If you feel that you don’t fit in this world, it is because you are born to create a new one, in all likelihood! Yes, you!
I wholeheartedly believe that deep inside each one of you— even when the need is numbed and that your conscious mind is still oblivious to it:
- You all want to contribute and give back to the world,
- You all want to be a change catalyst,
- You all want to leave an impact and a legacy for the generations unborn.
This basic human need correlates to our Spiritual Dimension (our Divine part). Without this component, we dive into life aimlessly. No matter what we do, we always feel that heavy emptiness. Curiously, we were so well trained to lose parts of our souls, become obedient, and prove our worth extrinsically through some distorted social lenses that would merely serve to deepen the imbalance.
The good news is that, unlike a machine whose program is irreversible without any external intervention, we humans share a magical endowment we call self-awareness. If combined with our divine gift we call the power of choice, we can rewrite the narrative and break free from the mental prison we never chose in the first place!
Is that all that it takes? It doesn’t seem to be that complicated to me…
I used to be guilty of such a thought, as well. The complexity of the subconscious reprogramming process is not the problem per se.
What is the real issue, then?
The most rewarding investment of your whole physical existence whose paycheck is priceless comes at a cost. It is accompanied by seemingly unbearable pain. Defying your unhealthy patterns, challenging your coping mechanisms, and facing your traumas’ core wounds is anything but smooth or pleasant. It sucks, and your brain — wired for survival according to experts — would play games to protect you from suffering. Hence, it would prevent you from reaching your transformational momentum, should you let it!
Why would I bother at all, then?
I am glad you asked the question! The first unquestionable reason is what you would get out of this inner work:
- Slowly but surely, you would demolish the persona and reconnect with your True/Authentic Self after cleaning the dust: your numerous limiting beliefs, whether about yourself or the world.
- By breaking up the limiting beliefs about yourself, you start building your healthy boundaries since you realize that you are the first person who deserves your consideration and love.
- Gradually, you move from your insecure attachment style to the secure one. As a natural result, you begin to build healthy relationships that would nurture your Emotional Dimension instead of making you sick.
Sounds great, but what does all of this have to do with being a secret weapon; I’m still confused.
Thank you for asking! Can you guess what makes the world we share with many other living organisms such a mess? You guessed right. Humankind. Us. In the very beginning of humankind’s (the first version at least) existence on this beautiful planet, we call earth, all that mattered was to survive and exploit nature’s gifts! There is evidence those first humans are not our ancestors, which is undoubtedly revolutionizing Darwin’s theory. Our ancestors evolved — according to this discovery backed by science — about 200000 years ago. Tribes existed way before our species. The archaic humans adopted the group configuration because it was easier to survive as a group when they were merely marginal creatures among many other animals and predators. For thousands of years, their position in the food chain used to be in the middle. Humans jumped to the top with the rise of our ancestors!
That spectacular leap from the middle to the top had enormous consequences. Other animals at the top of the pyramid, such as lions and sharks, evolved into that position very gradually, over millions of years. This enabled the ecosystem to develop checks and balances that prevent lions and sharks from wreaking too much havoc. As lions became deadlier, so gazelles evolved to run faster, hyenas to cooperate better, and rhinoceroses to be more bad-tempered. In contrast, humankind ascended to the top so quickly that the ecosystem was not given time to adjust. Moreover, humans themselves failed to adjust. Most top predators of the planet are majestic creatures. Millions of years of domination have filled them with self-confidence. Sapiens by contrast are more like a banana-republic dictator. Having so recently been one of the underdogs of the savannah, we are full of fears and anxieties over our position, which makes us doubly cruel and dangerous. Many historical calamities, from deadly wars to ecological catastrophes, have resulted from this over-hasty jump.
~ Yuval Noah Harari
We are the problem. Our insecurities are the problem. Our paralyzing fear is the problem. Our ego coping mechanisms are the problem. No matter how bitter this statement could be, admitting it is the first step to freedom.
But, what does it mean for the Universe to rewire our biased and unfriendly program — the root cause? We humans become THE solution! I would say that such a motivation that goes far beyond ourselves is what helps raise our bravery during the process of aligning our minds with our spirit and potential following our awakening. It was my experience!
You are all seeds of greatness, my friends! We are not to be blamed for the result of our lifetime of conditioning. Nonetheless, it is our responsibility to do something about it because our fulfillment, as well as the planet’s future, depends on it!
Spiritual practices are good for the matter. However, if not backed by the tremendous psychological work — we require for alignment and to healthily transcend our ego, our growth would stay limited and easily reversible.
Mahatma Gandhi, one of the most respected and inspirational servant leaders of human history, got it and summarized it as below:
One man cannot do right in one department of life whilst he is occupied in doing wrong in any other department. Life is one indivisible whole.
Practically speaking, creating a new world means dealing with the flu operating system — our immunity — instead of temporarily fixing the symptoms, which translates into changing yourself from within!
