Let’s continue considering a few Life Principles of Truth that are a little more complex in their nature and application than the principle of gravity.
- Light Dispels Darkness.
In the natural, when we want to drive away the darkness we flip the light switch to the “On” position. If we don’t have the convenience of electricity, we light a fire or turn on the flashlight.
This is because the light of our truth will continually shine most brightly, thus drive away the dark probabilities of wrong decisions, when its source is:
never-changing;
all-knowing;
independently existent;
universally valid; and
not dependent upon any other variables.
Without an absolute source of truth, any degree or strength of light from the truth cannot be depended upon for making consistently optimal decisions, thus dispelling the darkness of poor decisions.
Alternatively, when our source of truth is absolute then it is filled with authentic, consistent, and powerful light. Therefore, this kind of light of truth can always be depended upon to guide our decision making path. It will faithfully serve to dispel all types of darkness that would seek to thwart our sound decisions, thus our choices.
Because we already know that decisions based on Life Principles of Truth create optimal choices, we are destined to dispel the darkness and draw an abundance of fulfilling choices unto ourselves. These opportunities are created because we choose, first, to rely upon the light of authentic truth.
If we want to open our lives to optimal choices, we must live by the light of principled truth. Principally speaking, self-serving “truth” will not draw in optimal opportunities for our choosing.
Applying Life Principles of Truth
Life Principles of Truth work most effectively when they are applied to facts and reality.
Facts represent something that is indisputably and certainly the case.
In other words, facts represent authentic truth (as opposed to individually-defined “truth”). So, the for-real truth about facts is that they remain accurate even when self-focused arguments are sent sailing, like sharp daggers, against the facts (about people, relationships, situations, and processes).
Reality is the state of a situation or a relationship as they actually exist, not as we wish or hope they would be.
In other words, reality is not defined by one’s self-justification applied to a situation or a relationship. And by the way, self-justifications that seek to overthrow reality are usually based on wanting to have our own way (regardless of how negatively we or others are impacted by choices and behaviors).
For-Real Truth Alert: The Great Commandment to love others as we love ourselves literally means to demonstrate a love for others (through our behavior) to the same degree and with the same intensity as we love our own self-will.
Self-will is an intensely powerful force. This is why disrespectful self-will historically and continually holds the power to destroy people, relationships, and processes.
Wrapping Up This Principled Truth
Of course, there are many other Life Principles of Truth. However, to begin the worthy process of change we only need to select one principle in order to begin reaping the benefits of Life Principles of Truth. This is because when we select one principle, it will lead us to selecting another one, and another one, and another one.
Principle-based living is a life-giving, addictive way of living because it works. It works because it produces consistently effective outcomes – over and over and over again – with unbelievable heart fulfillment.
Most importantly, this way of life will lead to the paths of joy, peace, and genuine love. And, sojourning upon these life paths is free.
The main character trait needed to live Life Principles of Truth is strength in the face of fear, challenge, pain, or grief. This brand of strength is called courage.
Essentially, beginning to live Life Principles of Truth requires a made-up mind, some dogged determination, and a little self-control. Well, maybe all that is required is really a lot, in that we will need to dig deep.
But, hey, the for-real truth is that we are already digging deep to come up with inconsistent, unfulfilling, and disastrous life outcomes. For real, the digging deep part simply comes with the living.
So, why not make the digging and the living profitable for ourselves and everyone around us? It matters in eternal matters. It really does. For real.
One More For-Real Truth Alert: The for-real truth about Life Principles of Truth is that if it were easy to believe them, learn them, and live them – everyone would do it! After all, it’s far easier to continue arguing the point about the validity of principled truth.
So, why not begin choosing to love others as much as we love ourselves – that is our self-will? We could begin by transforming one action within our self-will into something that is beautifully wrapped in genuine, self-less love. What does that action look like?
As a result, what we attract unto ourselves, we get to choose for ourselves. Therefore, we set ourselves up to do the choosing in our lives by choosing to live by Life Principles of Truth.
What do you really want in your life? Draw it unto yourself through living Life Principles of Truth. Then, Choose what you want based on the optimal choices you’ve drawn unto yourself. It’s For Real: optimal choices have a way of sending “the days of waiting to be chosen” to the past.
