Could never compare
to my love for you.
Daisy petals counted
to the tip of the bud.
Confess of my feelings.
Could this be love?
Iris stems open to purple fragrance.
Yet, my love for you,
simply doesn’t make sense.
Geraniums bloom
then shed their flowers.
To see you again,
I count the hours.
Lavender fragrance
soon to fill the air.
Perhaps in the spring
I shall not care.
Pansies shall peek through
worn-out snow.
As opportunity knocks
for me to know.
Vinca minor shall play a tune
to the earth.
Will bravery triumph
or strike a curse?
Chive stems of green
become purple puffs.
Count you I will
as one of my loves.
Cindy my dear friend your words reach deep within me a story to be remembered and told again and again.
Larry, thank you so much. Love is an everlasting feeling and what better time to express those emotions than for Valentine’s Day. However, true love, I feel, should be celebrated every day…
Cindy, I am learning how to write poetry to add to my pros writing. Loved this and appropriate for Valentines Day. Well done.
Thank you Lynn and I am so glad you’re writing poetry. I didn’t even make the connection to this for Valentine’s Day. How lovely indeed!
