BE PART OF THE LEGACY

TAMPA BAY • FEBRUARY 23-24 2026

This FINAL encore experience will be unlike any other. Because like everything we do, it's been "reimagined" from beginning to end. It's not a virtual or hybrid event. It's not a conference. It's not a seminar, a workshop, a meeting, or a symposium. And it's not your typical run-of-the-mill everyday event crammed with stages, keynote speeches, team-building exercises, PowerPoint presentations, and all the other conventional humdrum. Because it's up close & personal by design. Where conversation trumps presentation. And where authentic connection runs deep.

Offers Too Good to be True

Occasionally, it pays us to slow down to consider all possibilities to speed up our business and other endeavors. In the current age of scams, the older advice suggesting we stay away from offers too good to be true comes to mind. However, the other side of the issue will be, what if we are throwing away a remarkable opportunity?

My Story

Most have experienced being taken advantage of in the past. But as we gain experience from the incidents that we long remember, we can realize the better path for discerning whether an offer is too good to be true or is potentially legitimate. Some will say, ‘don’t waste your time; just pass.’ However, when considering the ‘what if it can materialize into something good?’ it’s worthwhile to give the offer due consideration. Either way and at the very least, we must consider the possibility and then strive to learn more.

  • Thoughts for consideration:
  • Does the offer align with my purpose and interests?
  • Will there be a steep learning curve?
  • Are there steep fees hidden for now?
  • Do the people behind the scenes sound credible, and will I enjoy working with them?
  • If I proceed, will additional fees be requested, and what are the next steps and all the following to consider?

Online searches make it easier to decide whether the person, people, and company are credible. We can look up reviews and read the commentary from others. But the human-to-human touch is always best, and it makes good sense when credibility is at stake to request a phone or zoom call to learn more.

It’s easy to dismiss an unusual offer to avoid much extra work. On the other hand, we may miss out on a rare opportunity making the time spent well worthwhile. By asking questions to learn more, we gain the insight to make an informed decision.

My experience has been that upon accepting a special offer, the opportunity continues expanding connections I would not otherwise meet. The initial questions I ask upfront are similar to the following:

  • What will be the process for working together?
  • What motivated you to ask me to join forces for my insight and begin working together?
  • What are your rules for partnering?
  • Is there anything else you would like me to know?

After all my questions receive the answers I need, I will reread the company information online, plus the reviews. I will ask about legal agreements and their processes if everything appears in order and with integrity. Upon passing all hurdles, we test working together to smooth out rough spots and make it a successful partnership.

I will only accept the offer if their credibility appears 100%. But should doubt exist in any form, I may first consult with an attorney if necessary. It is always essential to protect ourselves and our companies before we proceed. Once everything is in order and we begin working together, the enjoyment and robust business outcomes make the entire verification effort well-worthwhile.

Your Story: Offers Too Good to Be True

If you have ever mistakenly decided solely in favor of another, sadly most of us have, then it will be wise to review how we perform today. You should avoid the potential slippery slope if you are new to the business or a long-time participant.

It is best to maintain the principle of 50-50; everything is equally divided or shared.

If you intuitively feel something isn’t right, listen to it, dismiss the possibility, and seek out more trustworthy others. One way to secure good opportunities is to network with similar-minded people.

Values and priorities are in sync, the conversations are enjoyable, and creative ideas stimulate your mind.

In Conclusion: Offers Too Good to Be True

There is magic in the right offer; it becomes a win for everyone involved. Accordingly, everyone is generally happy, and new possibilities add to the mix, making it a lucrative effort for all. With all the effort put in upfront and income increasing, it becomes almost magical that the initial offer works out as well as it does.
