Being privy to a town’s day to day is what I call blessed. To see how the townspeople interact with one another, their way of life, the way they go about their days…naturally. I jump in feet first and soak it up as much as I can. I am able to experience this each summer with my family in Italy and count my lucky stars each minute I’m there. I felt just as privileged to be able to spend a few hours off the resort in the Dominican. I wanted to see the town, the people, to catch a glimpse into their world. A few hours is not much at all but it’s what I had and I enjoyed each second.
We were entertained by this little band, the most adorable Dominican little gents not shy about playing on their drums for all to hear. Natural talent.
A colorful side street made up of shops and homes flanked by the blue sky and green hilltop. I love when nature adds it’s personal touch.
Not too busy to give a wave. Little did he know that I couldn’t wait to show my toddler this picture who loves big machines. Happy to have gotten the picture, even happier that he waved to me too. Natural responses are the best responses.
By far one of my favorite pictures. I had spotted this lady walking while we were in the car and I didn’t have my camera ready to take the picture as we zoomed past. Later and seated for lunch, she passed by on the opposite side of the street. I jumped up and ran to get her picture trying to be as inconspicuous as possible. It all fell into place and I still beam when looking at this picture. Naturally happening moments.
