Words tumbling from otherwhere
pen gliding across icy white terrain
disturbing the pristine surface
leaving behind a trail of thoughts
rushing up from my soul
bursting through the cracks
and crevices of my peaceful facade
I write to empty myself
to relieve my fullness
like a geyser I gush and sputter
till there is no more
till the turmoil softens
and stillness comes at last
For a few moments, I luxuriate
in the grace of silence
before the onward rush of life
begins again to fill me
