Exactly 7 years ago I was in a meeting in West LA where I was offered a chance to produce a feature film described to me as, “A musical…about a circus…and they say that Hugh Jackman is attached.” Not ten minutes before that offer, I was informed that an independent film project I’d been working on for a year had fallen apart. Reeling, which became a future blockbuster was offered in its place. I graciously turned down the last opportunity, got into a LYFT at 10:30 pm, and never looked back.
Once settled into the car, I greeted my driver, Noah, and I blurted out what had just happened. Using his words purposefully, I could hear his sincerity, intelligence, curiosity, and a rare capacity for greatness. In the next hour’s drive, our Business Partnership with NOW WHAT STUDIOS was born.
Yes, I made a multi-million dollar business decision by simply hearing Noah Bewley speak without ever seeing him? And you turned down THE GREATEST SHOWMAN?
Yes. And yes.
During that first ride, our original MY GOLDEN BLOOD series began to develop because of the hard work Noah had already put into it. I often refer to Noah as my GYFT from LYFT.
A lucrative, comprehensive Young Adult action/thriller storyline is set-up for episodic TV, gaming, publishing, and will introduce characters Clay, Kate, the General, and a cast of volatile oddballs. In Hollywood speak, think: “STRANGER THINGS” – with a purpose. We have a committed, enthusiastic, highly skilled team in place to direct, produce, and meet our goal for international sales on multiple platforms. Allow me to explain the reason behind the name: Rhnull blood, often referred to as “Golden blood” is extremely rare (statistically non-existent) and is not positive nor is it negative as is normal blood. Golden blood is classified as just A, B, AB, or O and this blood is – ounce for ounce – worth more money than actual gold. As you can imagine, this rare blood type is essential for our storyline.
The true GLOBAL benefit of our original series goes beyond worldwide distribution: On any given day, in every city in North America, there are hospital patients who are unable to receive lifesaving services because the local blood banks cannot provide an ample supply of necessary blood products.
It’s too horrible to imagine if any one of those people who needs blood products might be someone we love.
How is this possible? Sadly, only 4% of the entire population of North America are donors and organizations need to supply blood for 400M people. How can we fix this?
Where there’s a need, there’s a seed.
MY GOLDEN BLOOD will educate and incentivize our Young Adult audience members to become urgently needed blood donors. Our demographic is – for the time being – the smallest percent of donors and we won’t stop until our platform helps change this. Artificial blood cannot be produced in a laboratory so donations must come directly from qualified and willing individuals.
We are not afraid to utilize innovative, lucrative, Hollywood opportunities and aggressive social media (which are uniquely at our disposal) to plant the seeds that will empower our YA audience to become blood donors who help meet this need. Plus we can offer fantastic SWAG and trips to the film set as a reward to donors.
BONUS: The most gratifying ancillary benefit when young adults become 🩸 donors is that this chronically disenfranchised population learns that they have so much to give. If their standard for HEROES has been IG influencers, TikTok dancers, musicians, or pro athletes, imagine the impact made when they learn that their one donation just saved 3 people’s lives.
To borrow from Disney’s HERCULES – we’ve watched YA donors, “Go from ZERO to HERO” in less than an hour. Together, we might just help an entire generation pull their shoulders back, hold their head higher, and begin to own their self-worth.
Blood donors have told me that after their first donation, they are now more attuned to the fact that we are all the same under our skin.
