Trust
We…
Want to believe that
Trust is a given
You will be honest,
Have integrity and
Nothing will be missing.
But…
In a world of imbalance
There is question
Of what you bring to the table
Is truth in its essence.
Blindly…
We go about our interactions
Hoping what you say
Has little or no infraction.
I…
Want to trust that you
Are authentic
In your words, actions
And in every minute
You…
Consider the consequences
Of what you say or do.
There is a significant impact
On me and you.
When…
Trust is broken, it leaves
A mark, one that
Is hard to embark
On a new path towards
Trusting again
For…
You have just injured
The senses within.
Coming to terms with
What has been done
Leaves…
Me to wonder
Why you took out the fun.
Trust…
Is really so easy to be
In the moment of reality
Giving freely
That which brings about
A connection between two
Only…
Each of us understanding
The building blocks
That have accrued.
I…
Want to trust you with all
My heart
Please give me a reason
From the start
To…
Know that on all fronts
What you say and do
Will be a great stunt
Showing the greatness
Of who you really are
Bringing…
The element of trust
Very far
Into our interactions, it will be
The final bow between you and me.
Eileen,
Trust might be the rain that is poured on/by you or the mirage you chase in self or others.
I feel a lot is to do with the innate self. Often, those with a lower self trust/confidence/self esteem land up hurting others.
This in-turn has to do with what you mentioned earlier- our value/belief system or foundation.
Let’s hope that the best in humanity is yet to come…
Keep Shining …
Rajat
Rajat,
Yes, the innate self and how deep self trust, confidence and self esteem has been developed. If not nurtured and cared for, the reflection of the inner world is experienced in the outer where hurting others is the result of the pain within. Not always a conscious action, but nonetheless, one that keeps relationships strained or challenged. Build confidence and one will create stronger bonds with others.
Yes, our value/belief system is key. Also, understanding if you are operating based on other’s beliefs/values or your own? It is very enlightening to discover this truth. Once known, then a whole new world opens up!
Thank you for sharing…
Cheers!
Eileen
Trust is always a hard pill. More often than not your trust is betrayed. However we must embrace trust and manage how we share it. Thank you Eileen for more sage advice.
Larry, you are welcome! Yes, trust is a hard pill. Learning to nudge into trust by guaging where the other person is coming from, we can build trust in a positive way. Give a little, but be okay to take away as well, until the trust is earned.
