The Mirror
A…
Reflection is looking
Back at me
I stare hoping to
See
Beyond…
The overcoat of what
Is hidden
Perhaps a place once
Forbidden.
Eyes…
Are the window to the soul
Going deep
What I find, nobody knows.
Only with the mind
I view
What…
Is not seen, but a powerful
Part of me.
The…
Mirror holds secrets
And stories untold,
Showing a mask,
Yet to unfold
Mysteries…
Not fully understood
Until the reflection
Opens doors revealing
More
Than…
Just what meets the eye
The beauty and potential
Deep inside.
What…
Do I see when I
Stare, at the person
In front of me?
Is…
The spark of light
Bright or dim,
Does the spirit
Seem to be free?
If…
I smile, does it return,
Like a boomerang
Thrown, bringing back
Something to learn?
I…
Find strength in
Gaining the knowledge
Of what the reflection
Is trying to tell me.
The…
Lines of weathered storms,
Creases from the many
Adventures are worn.
To show the building of
Character
Rising above noisy chatter.
Thoughts…
And attitudes abound,
Swirling as the eyes have found
The mirror tells no lies,
It joins together all pieces inside.
So…
Next time you face your truths,
There will be a revelation
Coming from your roots.
Look in the mirror
Compassion a special feature
For the person
Doubling as your teacher.
Eileen,
The words you chose play a mystical imagery that overpowers the reader.
Beautiful.
“What do I see when I stare .. ”
“Thoughts…And attitudes abound,
Swirling as the eyes have found”
Eyes are the mirror to the soul and of the soul.
Keep Shining …
Rajat,
Yes, it does seem there is a mysticism that surrounds the imagery conjured up by the mind/inner eye visual. Whatever the person “sees” is a reflection of the inner world.
Ever notice how there are some people where there is nothing there when you look into their eyes in order to go deeper? It’s like a void. And then there are some where you see so much depth and wisdom?
Makes one wonder about the weaving of the inner world and the outer world….
Cheers!
Eileen

Forbidden. This is Strong Ink. You could write a whole story just from these few powerful words. Love this Eileen.
Larry, thank you! Hmmm…..maybe I’ll make this into a musing as part of the next 30 days. Happy you love this!
