“Anitya” is a word in the Sanskrit Language which essentially means nothing is permanent. The Physical, Psychological and the intellectual worlds of objects, feelings, emotions, and ideas are all finite in nature. That is they have a beginning and an end. They are impermanent by its very nature. So what is capable of giving us pleasure today can also bring about some agony and the cycle repeats. When everything in the physical and mental worlds has a beginning and end why do we hold on, thinking that they are going to be there forever?
So can we make some beginnings to elevate the content of our consciousness and can we end and let go of things that drag us down…? Some of the beginnings that we make over a period of time with constant and mindful efforts may transport us to a realm where things are more permanent and one gains a sense of equanimity and is not exalted by either pleasure or pain.
So what do we begin and what do we end?
✅ Begin to live a conscious and aware life with respect and reverence for everyone and everything in this universe.
✅ Begin to accept that change is acceptable
✅ Begin to appreciate all that you have right now in the present moment
✅ Begin to invest in your holistic wellbeing encompassing your Physical, emotional and spiritual modes.
✅ Begin to connect with your inner self to truly go beyond the limitations of the mind and body.
✅ Begin to cultivate positivity and create meaning in everything that you do.
✅ Begin to bring out your talents, strengths, passions, and values for your fulfillment and the world to benefit.
✅ Begin to live a more compassionate life exuding grace, warmth, humility, and goodwill.
✅ Begin to discover the treasure trove of happiness that is within you.
✅ End and let go of the bitterness, resentment, irreverence, and Judgment.
❌ End and let go of the beliefs that are self-limiting and inhibiting.
❌ End and let go of mindless and egocentric indulgences that don’t aid in your growth.
❌ End and let go of fear and worries about what tomorrow might bring.
❌ End and let go of past conditioning, biases, and prejudices.
❌ End and let go of the notion that you know everything there is to know and there is nothing more to learn.
Powerful and very deep. It begs to be read many times with each time revealing more of its secrets.
Thank you some much Larry.. it’s as humbling and as encouraging a compliment as it can be..
Thank you I did truly enjoy it
You have done it, once again, Dear Srihari! You command an unfathomable reservoir of analytical thinking, and that makes me feel proud. Why, because I can learn so much from your simplistic, and yet highly impactful approach to life.
When it comes to ending certain things in life, I will dare say let us put an end to the imaginary walls we keep creating in society, based on unfounded beliefs, and an ever-growing oneupmanship.
Thanks, with Warm Regards!
