Love sits silently with you.
Love, a plush blanket wrapped
Woven inside,
All around your despair,
The chill of hopelessness.
Love holds you in its comforting lap
As you wail, scream, flail,
Flounder, sob, and hiccup.
Love, a warm hand, holding
A tissue, wiping a
Tear-streaked face.
Love looks right into your red, puffy eyes
Sees your radiant, pounding, beautiful heart.
Love does not pretend you aren’t hurting
By looking at a watch, a clock, a screen,
An unopened door.
Love breathlessly touches your hand,
Places an arm around your shoulders,
Offers you a hot cup of tea.
Love patiently allows you
All the time you need to feel.
Love remains endlessly present,
Awake while you sleep exhausted
With your sadness.
Love kisses your heart, your forehead,
Your check,
Pulls the covers around
your shivering body.
Love smiles warmly when you awake,
Whispers a gentle good morning.
Love walks by your side,
Always by your side
Reminding you–
You are loved more than you can even imagine.
Love affirms– your precious life matters.
Through time, Grief and Love become One, in
The GriefLove place where sun shines,
Snow melts,
Shoots emerge from the muddy earth;
An enduring, unwavering celebration,
A Peacefully tender expansion of your
Courageous, compassionate soul.
Your ability to experience grief
Forever walks with the breadth,
Depth of your
Immense capacity to Love.
Love Sits Silently
