Inspiration for today’s blog came in the form of a LinkedIn message I received this week asking for a recommendation. Some context: I have never worked with, spoken to or had any correspondence with this person, but they thought I’d be the best person to recommend them to potential future employers. Hmm.
via Why LinkedIn Recommendations and Endorsements Are A Waste Of Time – Business 2 Community.

I do not recommend or endorse anyone I don’t believe has a certain skill set. I recommend only those colleagues I know, have worked with or done business with.
So true. I do not know 95%of the people that endorsed me. The problem as I see it is two fold. One, we as a non-profit company need all the help we can get to have the people in our related fields see what we do. Sooooo, linkedin works to a point. Two,the way they are set up you can not get to who you need unless you pay for their big program and then it is still limited. We need a way to verify the people and their jobs on the pages we see on linkedin.
