A DECADE+ OF STORYTELLING POWERED BY THE BEST WRITERS ON THE PLANET

WE DON'T DO IT ALL, BUT WE DO IT ALL "FOR GOOD"

BE PART OF THE LEGACY

TAMPA BAY • FEBRUARY 23-24 2026

This FINAL encore experience will be unlike any other. Because like everything we do, it's been "reimagined" from beginning to end. It's not a virtual or hybrid event. It's not a conference. It's not a seminar, a workshop, a meeting, or a symposium. And it's not your typical run-of-the-mill everyday event crammed with stages, keynote speeches, team-building exercises, PowerPoint presentations, and all the other conventional humdrum. Because it's up close & personal by design. Where conversation trumps presentation. And where authentic connection runs deep.

Let’s Chalk it Up to Kindness

♦ EXPLORING OUR SHARED HUMANITY ♦

No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.

— Aesop

In a world that often feels disconnected and impersonal, a simple act of vulnerability can spark a chain reaction of compassion that reminds us of our shared humanity. This is the story of Emma, a young girl whose heartfelt cry for connection touched the hearts of an entire community and teaches us all a valuable lesson about the power of empathy and reaching out.

Emma’s story begins with a poignant message, scrawled on a piece of wood and left in a local park: “To be honest, I’m sad. Nobody ever wants to hang out with me, and I have lost the only person that listens. I cry every day.” These words, raw and honest, were a silent plea for understanding and companionship in a world that felt increasingly isolating.

But what happened next demonstrates the incredible capacity for kindness that exists within our communities. When a passerby discovered Emma’s note, she didn’t simply read it and walk away. Instead, she was moved to action. Armed with sidewalk chalk, she returned to the park and invited others to leave messages of support for Emma. The response was overwhelming. Dozens of students from a nearby school took the time to write words of encouragement and love. “We love you,” one message read. “You are beloved,” declared another. These simple phrases, written in colorful chalk on the park’s pathways, created a vibrant tapestry of support for a girl they had never met but with whom they deeply empathized.

The school principal’s words capture the essence of this beautiful gesture: “This is one little way that we can reach out and maybe help fill [her void]. She represents all of us because, at some point in time, we have all or will all experience sadness and suffering.” In recognizing Emma’s pain as a universal human experience, the community transformed a moment of isolation into an opportunity for connection and healing.

Emma’s story challenges us to be more aware of those around us who might be silently struggling. It encourages us to be the person who notices, cares, and takes action. Whether writing a supportive message, offering a listening ear, or simply being present for someone in need, we all have the power to make a difference in someone’s life. The power to make a difference is in our hands. Let’s use it wisely and generously, creating a world where no one feels as alone as Emma did that day in the park. Together, we can transform moments of sadness into opportunities for connection, healing, and hope.

In a world that can sometimes feel overwhelmingly large and impersonal, this story reminds us that acts of kindness, no matter how small, can create ripples of positive change that extend far beyond our immediate circle.

Join us in spreading positivity. Let’s flood the world with stories that uplift, inspire, and remind us of the inherent goodness in all of us. Together, we can create a brighter future, one act of kindness at a time.

  1. Every person who reaches out is healing something in the other who sees the outstretched hand. To exercise and cultivate compassion, grand gestures are not necessary, but we must find in ourselves the willingness to be present by bringing kind gestures, patience, a caress or a hug. But as the episode in the article teaches us, if we want to make a difference, we must also do more concrete things: make the need known, participate in charitable association initiatives, offer our contribution in emergency situations, support friends or family, volunteer or adopt at a distance, offer our assistance to others as a counselor accompanying people in difficult or changing times, but also to improve synergies within a care team.
