It is so easy to be serious. In the 60s and 70s, our mantra was “Live and let live. Live and pay later. Take chances and explain later.” In the 80s and 90s, we became self-analytical, explaining and processing and taking all-day and all-weekend workshops, being positive and anchoring to music or dynamic affirmations.
We went from having a small role in our destiny to an obsession with the outcome of our destiny. We went from not being accountable to being accountable for everything, everyone, all of our children’s actions.
Be proactive, yes! Know your own values and do your best to live them every day, yes! Yet, please remember that the Difference makers of the world do not take on everyone else’s problems, they remain light enough that they can touch, love, shine light, and leave magic on the hearts and souls of many. Two good things to consider when giving your time and energy to any endeavor: What do I let bring me down that has nothing to do with me? If you are helping and impacting others are you more discouraged than they are? How can we fly if we are carrying the weight of the world on our shoulders?
Wow, if I must say so myself! I needed this today!!! Thank you Dennis and Biz Catlayst for all you do for us!
OMG. Yes. sometimes guilty as charged. AND I am adding sunshiny practices every day, Taking myself more lightly and brightly is becoming a core value. I have spent too much time allowing anxiety to creep in at the edges of my days. It takes its toll. I love the line: touch, love, shine light, and leave magic on the hearts and souls of many. PERFECT AFFIRMATION and
guiding principle for these challenging times. It’s a keeper. I just wrote it down!!! Thanks, Temple Hayes, for your always shining a light on Life.
