how often have we
mere humans
made a way out
of no way
found a response
to the unspeakable
tragedies and travesties
that are woven
into our life journeys
it’s slow going sometimes
but perhaps
going slow allows for nuance
and more deliberate choices
and sometimes what is called for
is a knee jerk reaction
to imminent danger or destruction
when that is what might save
the day or the play
or the country
or the ethical and humane
principles that serve
as bulwark and ballast
for our common humanity
while it is true that
there is no one right way
it is equally true
that deep inside we know
right from wrong
decent from indecent
Truth from blatant lie
so let us not forget
in the midst of rising
to the challenges of our times
that we are part of something
greater than our meager selves
that there is A Force…
A Presence…A Love
that sustains us and guides us
if we will but listen
with all our might
and take heed
from the heart, mind, and pen of Minx
Minx, Whew! Beautiful Ink with a strong dose of healing.
Thanks Larry.
I love that expression “Beautiful Ink” My prayer is that it is a “healing offering.”
Beautiful expression Minx.
And a great reminder of what we are …and being part of a greater picture here.
Blessings to you
Thanks Paula. I wrote this while watching the images flash on the screen of the attack on our citadel of democracy…wrestling with our need now, more than ever, to form a more perfect union out of the chaos and confusion. Seeing all that hate and not seeing a way around it, what came to me that what we are seeking to do/create/envision is beyond the scope of any one of us and yet within the reach of ALL of us when we are connected to Source and to each other. I just finished a 2 day training in “Difficult Conversations.” We cannot simply point a finger at the “other” side. It will take all of us and these dialogues are a necessity right now if we are to arise to some next level of possibility.
