It’s hard to imagine our lives without smartphones and internet access, but many people have forgotten what the original homepages of some of our favorite websites used to look like “back in the day.” The now graphic-dominated and flashy websites of the late 2010s are vastly different than the simplistic home pages of the early internet. Using the way-back machine, Advanced Dermatology took a look at some of the biggest and most surprising “internet makeovers” of the past two decades. And while sites like Netflix, Amazon and Yahoo have redone and spruced up their website aesthetics, others have not. Google, Wikipedia and Reddit still maintain very similar interfaces to their original home page from years ago, showing that not everything on the internet is constantly changing.
