A DECADE+ OF STORYTELLING POWERED BY THE BEST WRITERS ON THE PLANET

iMatter

It seems as if more and more people are in need of validation and positive reinforcement as of late. I don’t know if this is a reaction to our being in the last year of the first quarter of the 21st century. I’m not sure if there’s something in the water that’s causing levels of insecurity to rise. Or maybe it’s just that we’ve come so far so fast — and given the cyclical nature of everything — we’re in a natural period of regression in which we’re less sure of ourselves than we’ve been in the past when we were distracted by less important things like being productive, earning a living, not starving to death, or raising families.

Correspondingly, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s Statistics of U.S. Businesses (SUSB) program, the number of assurance companies now exceeds the number of insurance companies. Insurance companies, of course, are businesses to which we pay premiums in exchange for insurance policies that indemnify us against financial or property losses, accidents, injuries, illnesses, or natural disasters. Assurance companies, on the other hand, are businesses to which we pay premiums in exchange for periodic phone calls, text messages, emails, or letters telling us we’re okay, we’re good enough, we’re doing a heck of a job, we should keep up the good work, or whatever other assurances we might need, depending on what’s going on in our lives.

Necessity is the Mother …

Given all that, and since I don’t like to see people suffer unduly, I’ve been working with Apple to develop an app for iPhones, iPads, and iMacs. It’s called iMatter.

The app enables users to program messages on a schedule of their own choosing or need. Messages can be programmed to be sent every hour, every day, every other day, every week, every month, or prompted on an ad hoc basis. The app comes loaded with 10 pre-programmed messages that can be sent in order or in a random rotation:

  1. I matter because I’m good enough.
  2. I matter because I’m smart enough.
  3. I matter because I’m cute enough.
  4. I matter because I care enough.
  5. I matter because I give enough.
  6. I matter because I do enough.
  7. I matter because I think enough.
  8. I matter because I’m important enough.
  9. I matter because people like me.
  10. I matter even if people don’t like me.

You can also program the app to send you original messages. And you can download original messages from other iMatter users from our exclusive iMatter Owners Facebook Group.

Get it Now

You can get the app free with in-app purchase from the App Store. Or you can buy an ad-free version for a one-time fee of $350. Some people may think that’s a lot of money to pay for an app. But you can’t put a price on peace of mind.

If you don’t yet own an Apple device, you can still get the app by calling 1-800-IMATTER. Ask for Iggy, the Android Guy. He’ll have you feeling better in no time.

And remember: You matter to iMatter.

I’m a business owner. My company — O’Brien Communications Group (OCG) — is a B2B brand-management and marketing-communication firm that helps companies position their brands effectively and persuasively in industries as diverse as: Insurance, Financial Services, Senior Living, Manufacturing, Construction, and Nonprofit. We do our work so well that seven of the companies (brands) we’ve represented have been acquired by other companies. OCG is different because our business model is different. We don’t bill by the hour or the project. We don’t bill by time or materials. We don’t mark anything up. We don’t take media commissions. We pass through every expense incurred on behalf of our clients at net. We scope the work, price the work, put beginning and end dates on our engagements, and charge flat, consistent fees every month for the terms of the engagements. I’m also a writer by calling and an Irish storyteller by nature. In addition to writing posts for my company’s blog, I’m a frequent publisher on LinkedIn and Medium. And I’ve published three books for children, numerous short stories, and other works, all of which are available on Amazon under my full name, Mark Nelson O’Brien.
