I The Dancer

I am the dancer

This is me

Oh dear brain

You are free

You must figure

And compute

There is so much

That you dispute

I’ll dance right past you

Raise my tempo

You will search

What you don’t know

What equation

Is this sequence

Some kind of math

Is your preference

Ha! Ha! I smile

And I just laugh

You can’t find

A simple path

Let me help you

Here’s a clue

It’s right here

Just beside you

This is the mind

That’s feeding you

If you stop

It sings too

Unfortunately

There is a catch

In this mind

There is a latch

I the dancer

Move around

When you can’t hear

Is there still sound?

I the dancer

Do not keep still

I cannot rest

I like this thrill

If you dear brain

Know I exist

Why do you search

For what resists?

So brief this moment

Spent with you

You are immersed

In what you do

So I will leave

My dancing shoes

Visit my home

With all my moves

In case you need

A point of view

I’m in your mind

In front of you

If you stop

What you are doing

There’s a song

Somewhere brewing

Who wrote this song

That makes me dance

Who sings this song

That does enhance

Here’s the secret

For you perchance

I the dancer

Your heart’s romance

I the dancer

Danced by you

Oh dear brain

The work you do

Without a song

It’s disturbing

Even worse

And so perturbing

The facts remain

Black and white

Not all points

Are wrong or right

When there’s a bug

In your machine

It’s time to dance

With mind’s dream

I hope you liked

This interlude

For when you dance

You will not brood

I the dancer

Have delivered

Now it’s your turn

I am a deep thinker, lover of thoughts, and prolific writer sharing my words. In sharing, I am caring. I am a member of the human race with an appetite to motivate, inspire, empower, and provoke thinking. I am compelled to a vision that we are all here for a reason, life is like a deck of cards... “My cards. My deal. Life is learning the game!” #opism What is OPISM? I have come up with this term as my nickname is Op and they are my own quotes representing a moral doctrine belief system. Thus...Op+ism=Opism. #opism. My professional experience is disbursed across industries from financial services and sales to that of personal and emergency care. As one who has trained and coached, mentored, and taught; it has become a passion within to witness and feel joy in the achievement and success of others that I have been associated with. I am a lifelong learner and have created and facilitated various training materials. It is through such experience that I discovered the power of positive feedback in both professional and personal manners. I am self-disciplined, accountable, determined, humble, loyal, and adaptive; but above all, I value my integrity! I am a decent human being. It is with my greatest pleasure to share with others the power of positive words.

    • Oh How devine! The idea of dancing without music! There is a song to be heard from within! Took me many years to actually hear it fully! Thank you so much Larry! Your support alone is a big encouragement to me! Your kindness is so graciously seen in all that you do! Happy thrsday my friend🙏

  1. Thanks for sharing this poem with us, Paula. It is rhythmic and lyrical and invites one to dance along with it One of my favorite parts is what you say here: “When there’s a bug In your machine It’s time to dance With mind’s dream.” Sometimes the best way to work out the bugs in our mind is to dance with them, write them down, and let them out. Thanks for this lovely piece.

    • I replied to this yesterday and cannot see my comment? Oh well. I’m here now …lol
Thank you so much Laurie! I do sometimes carry a tune in my head when I write.. some lyrics I have written.. I’m just not that musically inclined. Lol. To me all poetry can be a song! Power in the words! Happy Thursday my friend🙏🙏
