From the perspective of unity consciousness, the phrase “I am in love with you” transcends its conventional romantic meaning to reveal a profound truth: love is nonselective and encompasses all of creation, with no true separation between lover and beloved.
When we examine this common expression through the lens of unity consciousness, pronouns like “I” and “you” begin to dissolve. We are all manifestations of one consciousness, expressed through individuated and unique characteristics. This paradox—simultaneous oneness and distinct expression—represents “unity in diversity.” Rather than “I am in love with you,” a more accurate statement might be “We are in love with one another,” or more precisely, “We are in love with all.”
The prepositions “IN” and “WITH” are key to understanding this perspective. Consider the first part—I am IN love. If all manifest creation expresses love, then we, as individual expressions of the creator’s love, exist within an ocean of love. Just as I might say “I am IN a movie theater” to convey physical location, “I am IN love” describes our fundamental state of being—immersed in love’s all-encompassing presence. The biblical passage in Acts 17:28, “For in Him we live and move and have our being,” conveys a similar fundamental state of being.
The second part—WITH you—captures our interconnectedness. We occupy this space of love together, flowing from and returning to the same source.
Living from this unity consciousness perspective transforms our daily interactions. When we recognize others as facets of the same diamond to which we all belong, compassion arises naturally. Conflicts diminish as we understand that harming another ultimately harms ourselves. Even mundane encounters become opportunities to recognize the divine presence manifesting through diverse forms. From this perspective, we abide in harmony, peace, and love for one another and all manifest creation.
Unity consciousness reveals that we are individuated expressions of the same source—distinct waves rising from and returning to a single ocean, unique facets reflecting the light of a single diamond.
From this perspective, the statement “I am IN love WITH you” becomes not just a sentiment but a recognition of our fundamental reality: we exist within a field of love, connected to all beings not by choice but by essence.
This understanding invites us to move beyond merely feeling love to embodying love as our natural state. When we truly comprehend that we are IN love WITH all of creation, each interaction becomes an opportunity to honor the divine presence we share. In this recognition lies our potential for collective healing and the realization of our deepest nature—love itself, expressed in infinite forms. Being IN love WITH you connects us in loving oneness for all—the purest expression of unconditional love, flowing naturally from our unity consciousness.
Thank you for sharing this, Victor. I know that this is true, and that it is for all of us, all the time. I struggle to recognize–become aware–that I am always in the Presence of Love, because of ingrained mental habits, but I’m also busy deconstructing those as much as I can become aware. In the meantime, I rest in the knowledge that the Presence is greater than my mental habits (or anyone’s), that I am safe to express all the love that I am. Nothing can take this away from me–or anyone. Safe in Love’s Keeping.
Thank you, Susanne! You are such a wise and loving soul, my friend. When I think of people that I have the joy and pleasure of interacting with in shared Presence, you are one of several people who come to mind. You embody divine love and I appreciate you!
In loving oneness, Victor
Awww, thank you! So grateful to know you!
Victor: This resonates with me in every way. I’m almost tempted to think the long-awaited realization of one consciousness may be evolving. Mickey Singer addresses this concept all the time, the one-ness of us all. His contention around ‘I love you’ is to change the expression. Instead, he suggests that we might better say, “I feel love in your presence.” Part of his calculation is that we’re all the sum of our learned experience, so it’s only when two peoples’ experiences align even a tiny bit do we feel an attraction to each other. True ‘love’ in the cosmic sense, as you write, is becoming aware that every one of us shares in the one-ness of consciousness, the god within us all.
Great piece, thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Byron! Your comments resonate with me and this is the nature of the love we reflect back to each other. Our love resonators get charged up just talking about this, writing about this, BEing aware of the essence of love that we share. I appreciate what you shared from Mickey Singer: “I feel love in your presence.” The light of love that is within each of us radiates when we are present to one another in presence. I love you, brother!
I love you as well, my friend. See you soon, I hope.
🔆 Dennis Pitocco, Thank you for sharing and spreading love. Your light shines brightly, my friend! Writing to Raise Consciousness is one of my goals. I have a previous post on Veritas that explains what I mean by raising consciousness. That piece, the recent post on the great shift in consciousness, and this one are all about raising awareness to our true nature–embodied spirits who carry the essence of divinity in the sacred vessel of our humanity.
Absolutely breathtaking, Victor! To see “I am in love with you” expand into a universal truth, a recognition of our shared essence in a sea of love—it’s electrifying! We’re not just feeling love, we *are* love, radiating and reflecting it back to the whole of existence. It’s a cosmic dance of connection, a beautiful reminder that every interaction is a chance to witness the divine. As Rumi said, “You are not a drop in the ocean, you are the entire ocean in a drop!”
Thank you, Dennis–this expands my awareness even more–and brings me into joy, which is how I know the Presence of the Divine. Thank you!
