Imagine this scenario which is very likely that you may face today. Suppose you got the job of managing an organization. Soon you discover that what you are actually managing is chaos.
- People come to work with no heart and engagement. They drag their feet while walking.
- Customer complaints are rising in number and intensity for a variety of reasons including promises of delivery that are never fulfilled or faulty products. This resulted in high customer churning rate.
- Employees backbiting each other and gossiping. Conflicts among them absorb most of their time.
- Sales are dropping and cash is draining.
- Creative ideas do not exist and procrastination is very high.
How would you bring order to this organization? How would you turn this organization into a successful story?
The idea for this post emerged upon reading the forthcoming book of Zen Benefiel. Zen trusted me with writing the forward of his book.
The book turned out to be worthy of reading and learning from it. It is a treasure of ideas for managers. The book title is “The Unconventional Conventional”.
Zen shares his experiences in turning chaos into disorder for ailing projects and organizations. The thinking behind how he achieved these accomplishments is remarkable.
Let us pool our ideas and see how close we can get to what Zen did.
Please share your thoughts.
There is a mistake in my writing.
“Zen shares his experiences in turning chaos into disorder”. Disurder obviously should read order.
I am sorry for this unintended mistake
