I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge. That myth is more potent than history. That dreams are more powerful than facts. That hope always triumphs over experience. That laughter is the only cure for grief. And I believe that love is stronger than death.
We all have our drivers in life. Pure instinct can push us into action even in the most challenging moments in life. However, the doubt typically dawns when the urgency has calmed down, and you’re face to face with the circumstances.
I have lived through quite a tumult in life, both positive and negative. But, for me, care and love are the most significant drivers at work and in life. Hope comes after there is a reason for existence. I cannot summon it by willpower alone. Instead, hope follows the internal light that was lit and kindled long ago: love.
I remember an excellent executive telling me not to care quite that much. Even the president doesn’t follow their troops to the field. I thought about that for a long time. Then, I moved forward to other roles. I reflected on the words, delegating more, but I realized I never reduced my care. It didn’t seem natural to me. People were used to opening up to me because they knew I cared. They often did not expect anything other than someone to talk to – someone who listened.
If you are asked not to care, remember that your hope may depend on it. And hope will keep you moving forward – sometimes against all odds.
Take care, everyone! 🌷
This summer scene (feature image above) is from one of our favorite villages. The weather was cloudy the whole evening. We waited until the last moment to see if the Sun would give us farewell. Finally, ten minutes before the sunset, the lights lit up on the horizon.
