The crisp sun crept over the horizon.
Dewdrops sparked in the light
as each one lost existence.
City lights twinkled off,
then cars began to rumble.
The land became awake with life.
Children rubbed their eyes,
then hustled out of bed.
Bees experience honeysuckle delusion,
for smell was better than taste.
Flies buzzed around as if airplanes in flight.
Some stranded in corners of unopened doors.
Others escaping to refreshing breeze.
Sparkling lakes carried many boats
across the tumbling waves.
Smiles given, yet received as equal parts.
Childhood play in a land of dizzy delight.
Each placing special interest on possessions
never observed before.
Clouds cascaded across the sky.
Mountains hid silently beneath them.
Persistent to end this day of joy,
the rains came down
to erase the moments into the night.
But people stayed waiting patiently.
The rainbows streaked across the heavens
asking for forgiveness.
The sun appeared shortly,
then was led away into the dusk.
Twilight among the rustling pines.
Sweet summer smells surrounding.
The day ended softly,
as leaves crisply lay to rest upon the earth,
and children nestled to sleep in their beds.
