This particular subject focused on the heart has been written about previously. However, such a topic presents itself regularly, generating further feelings and comments. Sometimes a desire to write, not knowing why or what to write about, envelops the consciousness as if prompting a need to out-pour thoughts or emotions.
The heart creates a desire to flow and generate or absorb feelings. Everyone is different; and unique. Not everyone will be inclined to trust heart-led senses Where synergy exists, freeing such a possibility; writing with fountain pen ink seemingly flows from the heart directly to writing paper.
Such a feeling is to an extent described in Michael Sandler’s book, ‘The Automatic Writing Experience’ published in 2021, (acknowledgment to Michael Sandler) where writing directly from heart to paper is wonderfully described.
One particular aspect of Automatic Writing, is when an article has been written, and the writer reads it a day later, there is a question as to whether the scribe actually wrote it. The memory of writing it can be vague. Strange but true. There are BizCatalyst 360° friends who enjoy such a phenomenon. Their descriptions are awesome. ‘Did I really write that?’
There is indeed something special about an ‘old fashioned’ fountain pen. Holding a fountain pen creates energy all of its own. No need to press hard upon paper, a natural flow; fluidity, and a feeling of connection seem real.
The heart is a generator of strength, serving the body, senses, and indeed the mind.
Talking about ‘heartache’, ‘heartfelt’ from the heart, and more. No mention of ‘mind-ache’ or ‘brain-felt’.
The heart is unique, multitasking, and a vital facilitator of myriad emotions, sadness and happiness, contentment, and a feeling that creativity and inspiration come forth from the depth of heart to the surface. At which point a smile fills the air.
The heart takes over from clinical aspects and creates a unique connection with life itself.
The heart’s function is to pump blood around the body, but playing a critical part in emotions and feelings is unclear. Perhaps when the heartbeat increases on seeing some exciting happening. But not just a faster heartbeat; but driving an individual to greater levels of sensibility of thought, prompting a fountain pen to be picked up, allowing senses to flow directly from heart to ink; combined fluidity.
A fountain pen facilitates a connection between heart and paper, allowing a flow of creativity and power of thought to materialize. And perhaps what to write about.
Hello Noreen, We are on the same wavelength. From school days when 10 years old, a dip pen and inkwell were the norm on a wooden desk, typically with ink stains. Later on, I have had many pens, Conway Stewart, Parker Dufold and Parker 51; a real classic I used in the seventies and 80s. Sadly, the Parker 51 used to leak ink when flying! I had to find a pen that had all the benefits of a fountain pen, but did not leak! From the 90s I was flying a lot to visit clients, and used to write ten or more pages of notes. Also writing cvs the same. I managed to purchase a Mont Blanc with cartridges which did not leak. I have had it for about 26 – 27 years. I used to have a fountain pen where I used different colors! I write my stories then copy them onto my iphone. creating something directly onto an iPhone or laptop is not the same. The pen literally a conduit to inspiration and creativity.
Thank you everso for your comments. So much appreciated.
Kindest regards,
Simon
I have my grandmother’s fountain pen which sadly, does not take cartridges and the bladder needs replacing… but I love having it.
Love my fountain pens. One with green ink, one with purple ink. Love my computers, but sometimes, it needs to be just me, a blank sheet of paper and a fountain pen to lead.
