Happiness happens
but cannot be forced
joy arises
but cannot be coerced
love is all around us
but it is up to us to tune in
to its vibration
so as to be enlivened by it
In the quiet of daybreak
as I stood barefoot on the ground
arms & hands & heart open in prayer
I was reminded by angels, avatars,
ancient ones and all my relations to
Await. Allow. Accept. Attend*
to Life‘s blessings all around me
and within me
Nothing more. Nothing less.
Simply BE
open to the miraculous
“gift that we call Life”**
from the heart, mind, and pen of Minx
*prayer taught to me by a dear friend Deb Roth
**words from another dear friend, Rev. Dr. Temple Hayes, that reverberate through her every message.
Thank you Dennis Pitocco for sharing this particular poem on this day of all days, when the reminder of 9/11 and the ever-looming possibilities of tragedy co-exist so dramatically with our determination to find joy and purpose along the way. This is the task of being human and humane in every moment…finding a spaciousness within us to hold the all of it.
Your writing is timeless my friend, Minx, and always seems to be the right message at the right time for so many.
