Hacking, Spying And Wiretapping

Vincent Viewpoints Header-vincent-kenHello people. Are people really so slow to learn. Now C. Powell joins a long list of other prominent, famous, and even “currently in power” people to find their emails have been hacked into and are being shared with the world. It seems to me that the lesson here is not all that hard to understand. How about “don’t put anything in an email that you don’t want the world to read”? Powell asked the media to not air them and to respect his privacy. Then on thinking about it said that was like expecting leprechauns to feed them to a unicorn.

So who is doing all this hacking into emails? The current accused is Russia, before that it was China, and then of course there are a raft of individuals and even companies that are busy invading other people’s emails.

Why are they doing it? Some for profit, some for fame, some for leverage, some for fun, some for bribery, some even claim it is for public service and/or patriotism.

Our government is on the front lines of those bemoaning the practice and accusing everyone in sight. It seems that they are oblivious to the fact that they are also in the thick of hacking. Does anyone really believe that our government doesn’t have a bevy of people trying to hack into the military computers of N. Korea, Russia, Iran, China, and a dozen or so others?

It wasn’t many months ago when it was revealed that our government had been “wire tapping” leaders of other countries, some even our allies. Wire tapping, spying, and various forms of surveillance has been practiced for years. That is why many governments, including our own, have safe rooms where they are insulated against eavesdropping from other sites. Isn’t hacking into emails and other computer programs just the latest version of spying and invasion of privacy?

I doubt that anyone, or any entity, is interested in hacking into my emails, but I’ll save them the trouble by saying there isn’t anything there that I am unwilling to openly share with the hacker or the world at large. How about your emails? Maybe time to clean them a bit?

If you have really bad stuff there, take a lesson from Hillary and use that bleach app.
