Motivation is the best ingredient a leader can give to his team, which could be achieved by making sure the business goals align with theirs. Leadership is said to be who you are and not what you do. For employees to get through challenging days, they will need motivation. Morale and motivation can be significantly influenced when a leader have the ability to praise and provide guidance for their team.

A good leader helps in motivating his team members by projecting a positive attitude regarding the abilities and project completion that each member brings to the group. In allowing you the flexibility to tackle daily motivational issues, great leadership qualities encompass a basic toolkit of motivational strategies. Team members work harder to achieve great performance, when they understand and agree with your project goals.

Sustaining a positive feeling towards the project without injecting any negativity into the operation can be achieved by adjusting project completion dates and team member roles within the group. To help in eliminating confusion and avoid slow down in a team’s productivity, a leader must present team members with clear goals and objectives for project completion.

Praising your team members in full view of other workers encourages them to perform up to similar levels of productivity to gain comparative accolades. In having focused guidance without the distractions of other team members, you must correct your team member behaviors in private in order to reduce the embarrassment and preserver their ego.

Taking time in providing your team members with clear steps to improve performance helps the disciplined ones to retain feelings of respect for you as their leader and work harder. You must always be available to take team members questions, because this will make them know that you consider the project important and value every team member’s feedback. Always remain accessible, so that your team members can get your opinion on project steps, ask question, and provide feedback on the projects current status.
