Motivation is the best ingredient a leader can give to his team, which could be achieved by making sure the business goals align with theirs. Leadership is said to be who you are and not what you do. For employees to get through challenging days, they will need motivation. Morale and motivation can be significantly influenced when a leader have the ability to praise and provide guidance for their team.

A good leader helps in motivating his team members by projecting a positive attitude regarding the abilities and project completion that each member brings to the group.   • Leaders instill hope in their team not fear, they use the carrot more than the stick and encourage people to step out of their comfort zone to better and bigger possibilities.
  • Great leaders support new ideas, because if a leader is constantly shutting down any new suggestions or improvements, team members can easily become demotivated.
  • Leaders create healthy competition, they encourage friendly competition so in rising to new levels, and new members push each other. As a leader you don’t have to do all the work in getting the team to perform well.
  • Great business leader are specific with feedback. Ambiguity leads to frustration in employee and make them wonder why they bother.
  • Challenges their employees, leaders look for potential and nudge their team members to push their own limit; this is done because people can get a little too comfortable when left to their own accord.
  • Leader reward with more than money, because for many employee money is not the highest reward priority. Leaders are well versed in all types of rewards. They give rewards like, appreciation, recognition and growth.
  • They communicate efficiently and effectively
  • Leaders communicate the higher vision of the company.
