There is a shift in what we are Thankful for today. So much of what we took for granted is no longer so self-evident.
We appreciate Life so much more.
We value our health and safety as never before.
Grateful for our dear loved ones and their health and safety.
We value so much more about care and welfare, employment, education, they with a listening ear, the humorists, etc. In short, we appreciate all those who inspire and motivate us to remain in our strength.
Most of all, we miss a piece of Love and affection, in the form of a touch, a hug, or a kiss, especially from our beloved loved ones, young and old who we have not seen for a while.
We appreciate Love today more than ever before…
Yes. You’re right Ineke. Appreciation makes a difference! Indeed, one that grows over time to have more impact.

Ineke, This post has so much feeling and projects the need for love and the need to show others gratitude and love. The more empathetic friends/family instinctively want to hug each other; thus a hug of course works both ways. We’ve had to adapt; try to see smiling eyes behind a mask. As it happens, I wear a visor at the Kings and Scribes – Birth of a Nation Exhibition (visitors have to wear masks) but it allows a little more spiritual engagement. If we are well, we have to project our ‘wellness onto others’ who may be a little negative. These are trying times, but together we can hold metaphoric hands or stand arm in arm in togetherness. Ultimately we will win the day and look back and in gratitude for the spontaneous warmth we gave and received, and how such gentle affection, empathy and kindness given and received with gratitude. Thank you so much, Ineke.
Ineke, What a great post. Hard times are inflection points where people have the opportunity to stop, think, reflect and take action on what really matters in life. It’s not the grand gesture, it’s the little things that matter. A smile, a kind word, a call, a note, a card all make a difference and bring us closer together.
