I was given Four Corners to the Universe.
I was given the choice to decide.
Take the North to South, or East to West for the ride.
I chose them all, because I could not compare, what was here from over there.
I had to see what was to the left then over the Hill.
I had to travel the Dirt Road to Serenity of Real.
For in taking the road I had never been on, I got to explore Magic as if it were a New Song.
The Views were spectacular and Hues were so great.
Green trees mixed with Windmills; no Forbidden Gate.
The dirt roads turned in many directions and along the side were Massive Rock Formations.
Small lakes spotted the Earth here and there; yet off in the distance was Wilson Lake of non-compare.
Wind tossed Waves in a froth of Wonder, Water Without End between Rainbow and Thunder.
We arrived at the lake and out through the brush jumped a Mama Deer; I didn’t catch the picture of her.
Yet there, barely tall enough to see, was the baby just waiting, just looking at me.
I took a few pictures and to my delight, soon baby and Mama did reunite.
A speed boat passed by; water lapped to the shore Singing a Soft Lullaby.
There we stood at one small corner of the Lake, yet The View was so large it was hard to partake.
I knew how lucky we were to be there.
We drove along dirt roads with many turns; crossed Beautiful Terrain with Memory Burns.
For I shall never forget this Magnificent Day.
We took a Chance and Got Lost and then Found Our Way.

Cindy, my friend, poet and now master storyteller I love this. I call them the lost highways and I am always looking for them.
Larry, my friend, thank you. Master Storyteller? Wow! You’ve made my day.
Yes, I love a good road, and these twists and turns on dirt roads with hills and views? Some of the best I’ve seen in a long time. So green and full of solitude. The best.
I love this story. Written with grace. I could hear the rhythm. You never know what you might see on an adventure or what lessons to learn.
Eva Marie, thank you. Yes, it was quite by happenstance that we traveled along many dirt roads. If we’d taken the next exit it would’ve gone straight to the lake with not much scenery between. It was our lucky day. 😉
awesome
Yes, a fine gift indeed! 🤗
I figured that we should make a mini vacation out of it; following my doctor appointment in Russell.
