The knee-jerk reaction of too many people in leadership positions when they feel wronged is righteous indignation and the urge for revenge. But one factor that sets truly transformational leaders apart from the run-of-the-mill is the ability to forgive – to let feelings of anger, resentment and blame fall away and become something constructive.

Forgiveness is not permitted.
We live in a secular society, and there is no room for forgiveness there. Mess up once, and you’re screwed for the rest of your life. There is no forgiveness.
Now, if we had a Christian society, then forgiveness is permitted and a way of life. Failures mean you get forgiven and you have another chance to do what is right.
Right ! That’s one of the most important human qualities… one of the rarest in my view, but, as Alexander Pope said: “to err is human, to forgive, is divine” – What he meant was that it’s human nature to make mistakes. But to forgive someone of
those mistakes, truly forgive and forget, is really, really hard to do. That’s why so few ever get to realize that. Grudge can kill you, and takes you nowhere in life. Thank you.
