Over the last few decades, women have made serious headway in the business world. In fact, women now run more than half of all small businesses in the United States. This rate of ownership, however, falls once the business has more than four employees as only one-third of businesses with five or more employees are owned by women.

Something that is often overlooked is utilizing social media to give or gain mentorship. Blogs, forums, social media groups, etc are all places to either give or gain mentorship without the need to add extra hours to the day going out for face to face interactions. For the busy person (either mentor or mentee) it is a great way to really gain or give knowledge, at the time that works best for the individual, and is on a global scale instead of restricting oneself to just what is available locally.
