[su_dropcap style=”flat”]V[/su_dropcap]ERY OFTEN PEOPLE who are self employed have huge visions and goals. Sometimes, you can get off track because you are not recognizing the progress you are making towards those goals.
Being a big thinker and wanting results yesterday is part of what inspires and pushes us as entrepreneurs. However, it can have a negative effect if you don’t understand this concept.
Our mindsets are the most powerful tool we have as Entrepreneurs. It is vital to keep yourself in the right frame of mind and not get discouraged or lose sight of your vision.
There will be times that you need to “course correct”….that’s ok, it’s part of the process. Sometimes we “think” we are going to accomplish something in a specific way, but a change of some sort happens, and we have to rethink our plan of action. The successful entrepreneur understands this and does not give up on their goal simply because something has changed. It requires getting creative and finding opportunity within challenges that may arise.
A powerful way to stay on track and in the right frame of mind, is to count your wins, however small each day. Even the smallest of wins, when written down will help you recognize the progress you are making. Very often it is the smallest of wins that are the stepping stones that lead you towards something amazing. If your mind is not in the right place, and you are stressed because you haven’t hit the “big goal” yet, or because something has gone wrong or changed, you can totally miss the opportunities that can be found in the small wins.
Combine this with gratitude. Keep a gratitude journal of all the things you are grateful for each day. This keeps your mind in a positive state, and the more we are grateful for, the more we will have to be grateful for.
Protect and work as hard on your mindset as you do on your business….it is the “jet fuel” that will propel your business in the direction you want it to go.
