Life on the farm was both pleasing and challenging.
In the late afternoon, I would sit by the window and feel the breeze blowing through the curtains.
By midday, the fields were brutally hot and dusty. Mom had a bucket on the porch for us to wash off the day’s dirt and sweat from a day in the sun.
At the end of the day, I would sit in the shade of the porch sitting in the rocking chair reading my books.
That little bit of time each day reading my books allowed me to travel around the world finding adventures and the stories gave me a lifetime of loving books.
