When you look at the featured image for this article what do you want to do? If you have grapes nearby, would you act to eat grapes? This is not always the case.
We see somebody in need but few take action to help. We hear and watch sad stories about displaced people for a variety of reasons. We feel sorry for them, but they mostly do not act.
Are our senses in dormancy? Our reluctance to react tells us that no matter what happens it almost makes no difference to us.
Having senses to feel and see what happens but failing to act must have reason(s).
Are we becoming more selfish? As long as we are not negatively affected so why bother? Are not we excited enough to act?
Take a recent example the earthquakes shaking many countries in a few days. Do we have any guarantee that we shall be safe from earthquakes forever?
The brain processes information from our senses. This information evokes our memories of past experiences and how we feel afterward. Have we lost our memories or have they faded away? This may explain our reluctance to react.
Humanity needs our senses to wake up. This is insufficient unless accompanied by action. Humanity needs to work together to restore peace in our world.
