Do You Realize Your Life Purpose?

Many of us have a hidden secret that may not be comfortable to share with everyone, although it sits front and center in our minds. It can take years to develop the trust to divulge with another what occurred previously. The time and the company we keep are to feel safe for sharing our secrets and, quite possibly, what leads us to realize our life purpose.

My Story

For many years, I was all alone, sharing my unusual near-death experience with myself in my quiet time to uncover the meaning and my life purpose ahead of me. It took me eight years to understand fully, ‘what had just happened’ to reconcile where I was and where I was heading. Only then was I able to begin sharing with trusted individuals.

Coincidentally, during a recent party, two long-time friends asked what changed my life direction. They wanted to know what motivated me most to become an entrepreneur, turn to write to express myself and be witness to my purpose unfolding. The two people were amazed upon hearing my revelation as they had never told anyone else about their life-altering moments. But upon hearing my openness about incredulous events, including my commitment to serving communities globally, the two cautiously began to share their astonishing tales.

We were each stunned that the other two had near-death experiences that directed us to our life purposes. Equally stunning was that it took each of us so many years to reveal them.

Georgia was previously a long-term psychologist helping many patients move past their challenging times. Over the many years, however, my friend grew weary from all the problems she dealt with daily. Knowing that change was in order, it came unexpectedly via her brush with death. The realization hit that it was time for her to do something that inspired her and would bring her joy; hence, she turned to photography. Accordingly, we began sharing ideas to help her build her business to become a well-known photographer. Her photos are creative, beautiful, and inspiring on their own. An art gallery now features them. With great enthusiasm, she is ready to take the new occupation full steam ahead. Her purpose is to bring joy and inspiration to others via her photography.

Inspired by our stories, our other friend realized it was time to come forth with her compelling near-death story. It was remarkable that the three of us all had a sudden decision to make that would direct the remainder of our lives and health. Rhonda’s realization was to convert her nursing experience over the past decades into helping disabled seniors enjoy their remaining time. Creative projects, writing, and puzzles all contribute to the effort she puts in with her community service work. She, too, feels she is now living her life purpose alongside those related to the patients, and they are grateful for the effort.

The three of us agree that as we each step into fulfilling our life purpose, we benefit most by helping many at large while contributing to a community spirit. Knowing that we may positively impact the lives of others gives each of us more meaning in our respective lives. Moreover, without expectations, people express their appreciation which always reconfirms our purpose. Moving past our initial fear opens many doors, and surprise opportunities appear.

The first step into leadership is to ignore the nay-sayers or those who seek to ridicule our experiences and voice the reality of what took place. The next, and more essential steps are to build confidence and share unique experiences with those who are more likely to care and be attentive to listen. As three individuals who independently acknowledged our special defining moment, we wholeheartedly accept the life purpose that thrust us into the early stage of leadership. Acceptance of what is before us Is essential for moving forward.

Your Story: Do You Realize Your Life Purpose?

Whether or not you have a near-death experience or are a person who believes in a spirit in the sky, we need to find the unique meaning within each of us to begin giving our best to those with whom we connect. The irony is, no matter what level you reach in your career, when you come to terms with your purpose on earth and the people who may benefit from your service, you will attain a new height that enables you to step into leadership by acknowledging your life purpose.

In your quiet time, consider what you wish to do and how you may begin part-time. Lay out your plan for the ultimate goal you see today and how you may start with baby steps until it takes hold to then put more time and resources into it to make it a full-time endeavor.

Adding to the remarkable experience is the confidence that begins to build as people acknowledge you and your work in a favorable light. Accordingly, excitement takes hold to realize additional services and products you may create to complement your primary job. Without realizing it, you develop a unique brand identity to do more of what your heart desires as you step into leadership by acknowledging your life purpose.

In Conclusion: Realize Your Life Purpose

It matters not what people think about your activities or ambitions. The essential matter is what we each think, contemplate, and put into action that may benefit other communities. Upon acknowledging your life purpose, life improves, and the impossible becomes your reality.

  1. Thank you for your reply, Aldo. I might rephrase that the better engine that all human beings ideally can have is feeling good about themselves and with others, appreciating what we have and enjoying every moment of that wonderful thing that is our life. Otherwise, it is necessary to leave the negativity behind and seek out supportive and collaborative like-minds.

  2. Understanding what an objective meaning of life is is something that transcends the possibilities of the human mind. Nonetheless, it is crucial to pay attention to what we feel and why we feel it every time we face a certain experience or situation.
However, I think that the only real engine that all human beings have in common is feeling good about themselves and with others, appreciating what we have and enjoying every moment of that wonderful thing that is our life.
