Days Gone By to the Moment of Now

Baby blue, clouds floating by.
Deep evening hue,
stars twinkling on high.
Moon swollen with wait, anticipate.
Crystal magic in the atmosphere.
Musical dance as branches sway.
Time to rest from evening to day.
Soft breeze brings sleep
as a welcome respite.
Calendar brings the summer heat.
A gentle shower now and then.
Dewdrops placed on leaves and skin.
Leave the umbrella and coat inside.
Feel the raindrops.
Come back to life.
Dance in puddles.
Soak hair and skin.
Laugh as the butterfly drinks it all in.
Robins sings to greet the day.
Blue Jays screech
as they want their way.
Squirrels perform as acrobats
to steal birdseed and corn
then chatter at cats.
Baby birds feast high on the hill.
Turtle Doves coo a gentle thanks.
They remind me of windmills,
cornfields and trains,
sandhills and valleys,
towns between rivers and plattes.
Days gone by to the moment of now.
All that is missing is
the horse and the cow.

My Poetry, Photography, and Journals hold treasure from grade school to high school to adult school, which I'm still attending ... just waiting for the final grade. Each layer of life reveals a new truth and with age, it becomes apparent that time is my greatest rival. My hope is to reflect with words and pictures that offer comfort, insight, and wisdom for a life well-lived with peace and tranquility in the end.
