On the verge of turning 40, an unhappy Manhattan yuppie is roped into joining his two friends on a cattle drive in the southwest. You may remember the famous scene in the 1991 movie “City Slickers” when Curly (Jack Palance) has the following exchange with Mitch (Billy Crystal):
Finding Our One Thing
As Curly said to Mitch in the above scene; “One thing. Just one thing. You stick to that and the rest don’t mean sh##t. But what is the one thing?“ said Mitch. Curly’s answer? That’s what you have to find out.”
We’ve found ours —and we’re going to “stick to that”. Two simple words: more hope. Living a hopeful life is to recognize that everything and everyone matters. That includes you since you are part of the hopefulness in the world. Taking care of yourself matters. The quality of the work you do matters. It matters how you are treated and how you treat others. Each one of us is a small mirror of talents, love, and joy that we have to offer each other to create our world. So hope is energy —your positive energy, your talents, value, and your soul. It is the lifeblood of the human race. And it’s not just about finding your one thing; it’s about walking the talk ↓
Finding Your One Thing
What about your “One Thing”? Why not become a beacon of hope? Right now, it feels like a moment in history where choices made will have a ripple effect for generations to come. Whether you’re a partner, friend, parent, leader, teacher, politician, or a combination thereof, we are called to show up and do more good to help fuel a better version of the world we live in. One thing. One voice. One gesture. One uplifting word of encouragement. One ripple. Because hope matters. Let hope become your “One thing”. Your superpower. Starting today. Starting right now.
It is time for you to shine so that others may draw hope, strength, and courage from YOUR light, and learn to let their own light shine.

Thank you, my friend. The response has been well beyond our wildest expectations, and the messages of hope so unique and so inspiring from around the world. What a rewarding “labor of love during our digital sabbatical as we immerse ourselves in Hope …
Congratulations to Dennis!
Congratulations to HopeFest360!
Congratulations to BIZCATALYST360!
And congratulations to the whole human being!
Hope, is all about how the human being can live better; how we understand the universe, nature and our Mother Earth; how we care about our Mother Earth’s health and synchonizing our body and mind with the energy change pattern of our Mother Earth.
Hope, is all about how we open our hearts to love the world; how we guide our spiritual energy of life to “cook” our physical and materialized life the best.
Grateful, Helen. Hope matters. And so do you!
Hope can be the soft whisper of your soul when you find peace with others who share your vision and walk with you hand in hand even when you are miles apart. That’s how I feel about the community you bring together Dennis.
Grateful that you are walking this walk right alongside us, my friend Mohamed…
Dennis great message. Hope is defined as “a desire accompanied by expectations of fulfillment”. I know that the New Year will bring us a new beginning. I am looking forward for Hope Fest, and my ” hope” is that we can all celebrate 2021 by being more tolerant and respectful of each other.
Love the definition, Tom – and indeed, we can all hope for new beginnings as we look up for “good” versus down in despair. So pleased that you, Deb, and your amazing grandson Christopher are among the many voices of hope now included in our epic HOPEFEST 360° production!
A labour of love.. starts with hope and passes the torch to light the way!
I’m so happy to help and am thankful for your torch Dennis. Thank you
Grateful (and blessed) many times over, Paula – thank you!
I like the title image. It speaks a thousand words. Hope indeed can be cultivated. As you said, it is the lifeblood of the human race. I would add that hope is in humans DNA. To have hope in these times that many consider the most bizarre times of our lives is a matter of choice. I made my choice and have faith and hope that people together can make things better.
Thank you for sharing a message of hope, Dennis.
Simple.Authentic. Genuine. Those are three words that come to mind Dennis! Great job!
Thank you, Casey – what began as one question has evolved into such a learning experience and indeed, labor of love…
Simple, beautiful, clear! It’s all about the ripples we send out. Cumulatively, we can’t help but bend humanity toward its purist and most uplifting expression.
Thank you, Dennis!
Grateful, Susan!
This is raw..this is simple…this is TRUTH: “One thing. One voice. One gesture. One uplifting word of encouragement. One ripple. Because hope matters. Let hope become your “One thing”. Your superpower. Starting today. Starting right now.” #hopefest2021
Grateful for your support, Carolyn – it matters, and indeed, Hope Matters!

It’s a labor of love my good friend and tireless collaborator on anything and everything “for good”… So pleased that you’ve been walking this walk and so many others!
Such a good message, Dennis. Simple.
Thanks Jeff! It takes so little to do so much for so many, my friend…
