I promise the readers this post shall interest them for its wide scope of applicability in life and management.
It answers important questions on how to turn your hatred to a topic like mathematics to loving math. Alternatively, to change your hatred of work, of Mondays, of certain people, and whatever towards liking what you hate.
I learnt this from my late father. The lessons I learnt guided my life.
Bundles to Promote Self-Teaching
My father noticed that hated biology and liked math and chemistry in particular. During summertime, he offered me a bundle of options.
If I solve a math problem, I would get a free ticket to a movie of my choice. If I solved a chemistry problem, I would get a nice small gift like a shirt. However, If I not only answered a biology question such as how the human body stabilizes its temperature, and could find a way to teach others how our bodies do this I would get a dream gift such as buying me a new bicycle.
My father not only mixed what I liked with what I did not like but also sweetened the offer for the things that I did not like much more than he sweetened the offer for what I liked doing anyway.
Slowly, I found myself attracted to self-teaching and being able to find a model or metaphor to explain the same to others. The excitement of doing this prompted me to take many initiatives such as finding a model for explaining integration for students.
Habituation resulted and I became friendly with subjects that I did not like such as biology. The biggest motivation was not the bicycle. It turned out to be the feeling of accomplishment and self-confidence that there is always a way if I am determined and committed.
People do not hate change more they hate to force them to change.
As babies who do not like straight milk so, mothers give them strawberry-flavored milk you can do the same creatively.
My father needed to give me incentives until the incentive turned into part of me. It became the ability to be more creative and find easy ways to turn what I hate into even loving it.
I fully support your logical speech which helps us understand what the key factors are that lead to the achievement of the objectives.
Although there are many variables that can influence, what consistently emerges are two factors: commitment and dedication.
Strengthening commitment and motivation is a fundamental objective for anyone who wants to achieve their goals.
The key is to trust and trust the journey you are on and not give up, always creating positive energy around you.
You are correct, Aldo
” commitment and dedication” are indeed the driving forces to keep trying and accept failure as a step up to better understanding and continue moving.
What wonderful stories, my friend, Ali Anani. I’d also like to add each accomplishment – achievement – we develop on our own adds to our strength of character. Plus helps show others our relevance. They lead the way to helping us become honest and authentic as individuals. Not to mention we’re helping others understand what can be realized when we tackle situations – in life- which test our mettle. Thank you for another thoughtful share.
Much appreciation to you, my friend Jean, and your wonderful feelings.
Your comment mirrors what I wished to communicate elegantly and correctly.
Your magical thought “we develop on our own adds to our strength of character” is not only true, but also the sooner we teach others to do this the greater the impact shall be.
