Is income inequality inevitable? Many believe this may be the case if we continue on our current trajectory, but there are other ideas coming into play that may alleviate or even eliminate wealth disparity between the very rich and the very poor, a gap that is continuing to grow, as well as other forms of wage disparity. There are also fears about automation taking over many jobs and the mass poverty that could cause, so more people are starting to talk about a universal basic income to smooth the transition to the future.
