While taking the time to sit down and read a 10,000-word article might be a challenge for most, podcasts create opportunities to listen to such long articles in bite-sized chunks during a commute or anytime we’re seeking to learn something new in a more convenient fashion. There’s also a personal element to it — podcasts often create communities. It’s a way of finding like-minded individuals who share your interests. And oftentimes, these communities create a kind of feedback loop: with listeners generating content for the podcast producers.
Mindful of the above, and consistent with our ‘contributors first’ operating ethos (and unlike so many other media platforms) we’ve chosen to cast aside the notion of launching our own, independent podcasting strategy in competition with our loyal Contributors in favor of creating an exclusive syndication channel in collaboration with them, to better amplify their worldwide visibility. In doing so, we will leverage our dominant global social media presence coupled with the 150,000 plus visitors coming to our Site monthly to amplify their inspiring work. It is this nucleus of talent that will form the epicenter of our game-changing “ENVISION” podcast series.
About the Podcast Industry
According to the Reuters Institute 2019 Digital News Report; “The growth of the smartphone has also been driving the popularity of podcasts, especially with the young. More than a third of our combined sample (36%) say they have consumed at least one podcast over the last month but this rises to half (50%) for those under 35. The mobile phone is the most used device (55%) for podcast listening.” …
“Across all our countries, the main reasons for listening to podcasts are to keep updated about topics of personal interest (46%) and to learn something new (39%). Other motivations include to fill empty time (25%) and as a change from music (22%).” …
Critically, podcasts are bringing fresh voices and production techniques to a medium that has changed little in a generation. Low barriers to entry, combined with high levels of creativity, are shaking the foundations of the radio industry.”
Long before human beings first carved figures on cave walls, people were gathering together to share stories that taught, inspired and entertained. We seem to be wired to absorb what we hear, so when we listen to a podcast, we tend to listen intently. So wait no longer – Visit our new GLOBALCAST 360° Channel to start listening today!
Awesome! An amazing opportunity and Trevor & I look forward to being a contributor. Cheers!
Having passion means doing something with the soul, with creativity, with love, putting something of ourselves into the things we do, at work. There are people who could do what they always wanted a job. It is easy to find it in athletes, in artists, in those who have realized the dream of a lifetime. Satisfied can be defined who is able to carry out the activity that reflects his own talents and inclinations. Often this “push” is within us, it is only a matter of knowing how to look for it. But how? The answer is: through a path that allows us to connect with ourselves, to reach the awareness of our aspirations, our desires, our inclinations.
A passion begins with curiosity. From an early age we are attracted by things that intrigue us and when we grow up we often end up dedicating ourselves in some way to one of the things that particularly struck us in the first phase of our life.
However, a real involvement is needed and this is the point where the equation of passions makes sense. Involvement transforms curiosity into active participation through the development of some form of activity linked to what intrigues us. Devoting time to their interests in a regular and repeated way feeds them and strengthens them.
The passions are nothing else then the curiosity and the involvement that are intertwined for so long. Passions are a source of energy and powerful motivation that provides the kind of perseverance and determination typical of leaders. The right push to jump out of your comfort zone. A driving force, an energy that pushes to act even in the face of obstacles.
Many people do not like their work because it is not aligned with their passions, others because they do not know what they are.
Okay, Dennis. Kudos on the Press release and article, especially if you were going for “intriguing.” That was the first word that came to mind and I see in the comments below the same for others. So I’m intrigued! Looking forward to hearing more and would love to collaborate on this aspect. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for your inspiring words here, Joe – and we would love to collaborate with you!
Dennis, many thanks for creating your podcast syndication channel. I’ll be eager to learn how I can deploy the podcast I cohost and to see what other contributors have to offer.
It will be quality podcasts like those you host Jeff that will become the hallmark of our New Channel – we appreciate the opportunity to share them with our global audience!
What a thoughtful and intriguing idea, Dennis. I can’t wait to see where this goes!
Well thank you, Mary – we’re excited to discover even more ways we can collaborate for the good of our wonderful contributors, like you!
This is an intriguing opportunity. I look forward to learning how it can work for contributors like myself. Thanks for staying ahead of the curve Denis.
Thank you, Christine. We stand ready to use the power of our brand/platform to raise the visibility of all of our “podcasting” Contributors…
What a great idea! Thank you, Dennis! I had been thinking about podcasting, but haven’t had time to set it up myself, so I’ll be delighted to participate in your venture!
You’re welcome, Christine – we look forward to including your podcasts within our new channel!
