It’s not easy to find a career that’s going to help to keep your mind alive. As far as it goes, careers seem to kill our brain cells. Most of us walk into a career that we found easy to get into. There was a time when education didn’t control the careers we had as much, so we had more freedom surrounding the jobs we could go into. But they often end up being careers that we have no interest in, or little interest in the subject. The perks of the job and the pay suck us in before the interest in the niche does. But this leads us to falling asleep at our desks in the afternoon, and wishing every single day away until we get paid, and even then, we wish that day away. The truth is, we’d rather have the freedom to do whatever we want with our lives. Unfortunately, we don’t have the freedom to do that, so you need to be focusing on how you can keep your mind alive through your career. We have a few ideas that we think will help!
Technology & Data
Technology and data is at the forefront of everything that we do at the minute. There is now such a focus in life on the technology we’re using, the data we’re processing, and how it can help us advance as a human race. So jumping into a career based around this is no doubt going to keep you on your toes. One cool roel is a data analyst. They’re paid big bucks by huge companies due to the technical nature of the role, and the impact it can have on a business. To become a data analyst you will need to have some form of education to back this. This might mean you going back into education to get a degree. Or you could start a role within a company as a trainee and work your way up, but even then they require some educational requirements. Anything revolving data and technology is notoriously hard to get into.
Sports & Fitness
Sports and fitness is definitely a popular industry at the minute. Thanks to the likes of Instagram, it has become more of a sort out lifestyle to go to the gym and get fit, and you can make a lot of money from that. A lot of Instagrammers are doing it without any fitness related qualifications at all. However, to go into it from the angle of a personal trainer, for example, you’d need to have the qualifications to back yourself. There are plenty of online courses, and it also helps if you already have an underlying passion for sports and fitness.
Marketing & Advertisement
Marketing and advertisement is a very lucrative career move at the minute. It’s far easier to walk into these careers with no experience, especially if you move to a big city. Being an intern and doing an educational course alongside it, will allow you to slowly work your way up the pecking order. Being in a city is like being in a hub for marketing companies who will all want to snap up eager beavers like yourself who want to work for cheap.
