In 1776, after the Second Continental Congress adopted the Lee Resolution that “these United Colonies are, and of right ought to be, free and independent,” John Adams wrote the following to his wife:
“You will think me transported with enthusiasm, but I am not. I am well aware of the toil and blood and treasure that it will cost us to maintain this Declaration and support and defend these States. Yet, through all the gloom, I can see rays of ravishing light and glory. I can see that the end is more than worth all the means.”
Befitting Tribute to Those That Gave Their Supreme Sacrifice So We Could Live in Peace! Happy Independence Day!
May all men, women, and children in the world honor what our Honorable Service men and women have done and are doing to preserve the dignity of human life with choices for a now and great future. Thanks for sharing the great message and the beautiful images. Will share with others and play for myself on this Freedom Weekend and my years to come in the future.
Blessings and Peace as we travel this journey together.
