As I look within my eyes
and reach within my soul;
I find a hollow wilderness,
dead grass along the knoll.
But up above the terrace
I find a chance to heal.
Masked behind the pain
is a brand new crisp reveal.
Scattered flower petals
flutter in the wind.
Mixed within are butterflies
helping me to mend.
Perhaps I dream too large
for the world to ever make
the delicious size of magic
I need within the cake.
Or back away from wishes;
I scurry to a corner.
If I love too deep and true,
I’ll just become a mourner.
Shaken limbs have left me
with branches stranded bare.
Yet witness I have truth
as you were really there.
Dance around the corner
of the dusty road ahead.
Sunshine lingers bright
above my clearing head.

You are welcome. Cindy. Please keep writing.
Joel, I definitely need to…I seem to have lost time for that lately. My creative side seems to be blocked momentarily. Taking a break to go deeper within I suppose. I will be curious to see what emerges on the other side. Cindy
