Does a business need a blog? Well, in my opinion, it is absolutely essential, not only for creating and promoting a brand but for creating a connection with potential clients and that connection is necessary to grow it’s following.
All businesses need to sell their product, service or indeed themselves. Blogs are now used by more and more readers to research products or services they wish to buy, and businesses are now recognizing this, and are now adding blogs to their websites, in fact they are hiring professional marketers/bloggers to run their blogs for them, you have to remember that it’s not about how well a blog is presented but how well a blog connects with the reader.
A good business blog will represent the business and its brand accurately, the posts will be evergreen, a business will post regularly, and the blog itself will always look and sound professional.
A business blog will contain accurate descriptions of the product and services the business is offering, and they should be written in a professional tone unless the product or service dictates it needs to be written in a friendly tone, but remember what I said, your grammar and presentation of the blog is important, but the connection you make with the reader is essential. Writing is an art, and not all businesses are good writers or for that matter any good with their social media, so a good marketer/blogger is needed to marry the two together and maintain a strong social presence. Digital marketing is a resource that runs side by side with a business blog and if the two are used the right way it can help make a business a success, but if it is used the wrong way it will break that business.
Research is the key to any good writing project, and this applies to a business blog, and a personal blog, because the information you provide should jump out at the reader and be self-explanatory, and help the reader come to an informed decision about whatever product, service or story you are writing about.
