Yes, I admit, I was a Bibliophile.
Shelves of books full of pictures,
knowledge, romance, adventure
and paths to cross a mile.
Lost inside words
scattered in ice castles
of madness and theory.
Dispossession created a ripple of forfeit;
game of chance became sadness and fury.
Recovery is slow
to escape from the vision.
Bookcase to ceiling
with choices to make
from tough life decision.
Mistakes and wrong turns
make the ripple cause waves.
Shake out the vision
to long lost winter caves.
Dash away darkness
to new wave of hope.
Release ill regret
with new reasons to cope.
How many books
bring a happiness smile?
Travel each mile
equipped with the Bible.
Beautiful🙏
Thank you Paula! I always appreciate your positive comments and thoughtfulness.
Cindy, I love this. At young age I use to ride the freight trains I had a back pack. I Had two books , The Bible and Henry David Thoreau. It is amazing how little I needed to learn about life
Larry, yes, it’s amazing when you realize how little you can survive with and also know that God always provides what you need. That’s what I have found – and I have learned that I only need to ask.
Plus with lighter travels your mind opens up to so much more!
Lovely words of wisdom, Cindy!
Thank you Maria!
