Sitting in my garden first thing in the morning when the temperature is pleasantly cool, but awaiting a high of 30c. The first day of Autumn. More like high summer!
Relaxing under a parasol, a cup of English tea, and biscuits, my mind wanders to cooler times, transporting me back to the coolness of Spring. The rebirth of Nature. Shining, fresh buds on trees and early flowers; daffodils and crocuses. Every year is so memorable. Good vibes.
My most favorite seasons are Spring and Autumn. Tree leaves wave goodbye in the breeze presenting the most awesome colors. Truly amazing. The most colorful time of year.
Returning to the reality of very hot weather, relaxing looking at trees full of leaves; some proudly displaying fruit galore.
Apples, lots of quince fruit which look like rounded pears, but not to eat raw, but brilliant for quince gin! Truly delicious, unique flavor. And figs! Yes, figs! In England? This year’s crop was the largest ever. Delicious.
Fig trees know the best way to produce optimum fruit. You may think that bright sunshine is the most appropriate. In fact, large leaves cover their fruit to protect them from dazzling sunlight. Figs are always hidden underneath, often hidden from view.
All around trees in full leaf provide a canopy of shelter, especially for robins. Multi-colored leaves, deep purple, heart-shaped, dense foliage at the bottom of the garden, and birch trees; their topmost branches reaching upwards towards a blue sky. A myriad variety of flowers brightening the day.
Sunset; Truly glorious colors greet the eyes, sending senses on a journey of pure delight.
From sunrise to sunset, Spring and Autumn. Bless the heart.
