Juke Johnson

Juke Johnson, singer, award-winning songwriter, and producer who was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. Growing up in Baltimore, Juke was exposed to many genres of music, his dad played all kinds of music from Jazz, R&B, and Country. We listen to Elvis, Ray Charles, Charlie Pride, Eagles, Motown, and Jazz. He started writing his own songs around 9/10 years of age. As a kid, he sang in choirs as a teen he and some friends formed a rock band- IDK performing covers locally like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Eagles, and Alman Brothers! After high school, Juke and one of the guitarists from IDK began writing and recording original songs for about 4-5 years. Married with 3 children in 1992, Juke became a worship leader at his home church and formed the Celebration Praise Band, mixing country, rock, and gospel- 7 singers with, guitar mandolin bass, drums, and piano. This was the early 90’s until 1998. Juke formed another Christian group called Adonai 1999 - 2006, performing around the Delmarva area at churches, missions, and events. Released 4 independent Christian CD’s 2000 to 2005, Soul Rhapsody, Reach out, Rise up, and The Mission as a solo artist. Credited as John Johnson available on CD Baby. 2006, Juke stopped performing and moved to the eastern shore of Maryland and focused on songwriting. He worked with Songsinc out of California 2009-2014, cowriting and producing lots of country music for up and coming artists. For most of the demos, he sang the lead. He produced his first solo country album (Simple Things) in 2013.attracting an online following around the world! The first of 5 albums between 2013-2020.
