A countryside walk invigorates senses releasing a tangible synergy with Nature.

Whether painting, drawing, or creative writing, an all-encompassing atmosphere awakens the heart, creating a oneness with Mother Nature.

Walking along avenues of trees, especially during Spring (Rebirth of Nature) and Autumn’s spectacular colors. And of course, Summer, where sunlight shines upon and through leaves, creating an almost surreal feeling of twinkling jewels, offering pure joy.

There are a number of such tree-lined avenues close to Winchester; some indeed within walking distance.

Looking straight ahead along an avenue of trees the scene naturally narrows, somehow creating a vision of infinity.

From one side, the views are awesome. Nearby, grassland, bushes, pathways and slopes. In the distance another avenue of trees.

On the other side, a hill adorned with a splendid copse of trees, grass and farmland accompanied by hedges that provide some form of natural alignment.

Such distant views are a spectacular.  From late Spring, almost as if curtains open another world. Another perspective.

Branches seemingly reaching out to each-other, in a way, replicating the ‘communication’ that takes place via their roots.  This is a fact. Amazing. But why not. Trees are a living species.

When often walking beside a river and pausing, so many elements greet the heart. A combination of myriad  birdsong, quacking ducks and graceful swans. Gentle sound of rippling water, an occasional splash as a heron lands upon the surface.

Sitting on a bench beside the River Itchen, certainly sends the mind wandering, pure imagination releasing heart to float above the river.  The whole scene gives a feeling of being surrounded by Nature’s Glory.

As previously described, inspiration visits the heart.

Individuals may be painting, drawing, writing or simply meditating.

Nature can reward those who let their minds wander and hearts lead the way.

Simon's forté is creative writing; the accent on the natural environment, transforming feelings, emotions, sights, sounds, and scents of Mother Nature's landscape; hills and rivers and woodland into words, transporting the reader to the locations. Essays include accounts of his life in former days. Instinctively writing in such a spontaneous manner, descriptions become life-like. His often emotionally charged writing, whether describing a surreal 'Son et Lumière' at the Grand Place in Brussels to experiences acquired during European business travel. Journaling and Exhibition Steward activities are his key sources of inspiration and creativity. Kindness is ever more important, where he is a promoter of Shelly Elsliger PPCC's 'Decide to be Kind' Campaign.
