To every single human
I share with all my heart
For every single thought
There has to be a start
What makes us think beyond
The world that we live in
All the love and joy
And every single sin
We all have a view
And only some will share
It happens every second
Conversations are out there
Every word that’s uttered
Is valued by the speaker
Some are most profound
While others are the weaker
In our minds we are alone
We search and look around
Looking hard to find
We seek a common ground
Something to hold onto
Something to believe
Something to give reason
Something to achieve
We need a solid base
A foundation where to stand
Some are afraid to lose
And fear change to understand
What works for other beings
May not work well with you
Everyone is different
Your life is needed too
Sometimes we need a rest
From leading in ourselves
A time to take a break
And let others lead as well
The thing that makes it smart
Is knowing you have will
Not everyone is climbing
Up the same big hill
The cracks along the way
Will allow you to slow down
As long as you keep going
It’s not over when you frown
Everyone’s a climber
Not everyone can climb
In humanity together
We have to stand in line
There is a time to process
And understand it all
Accepting there are moments
From this climb that we will fall
Expect to lose your grip
Anticipate the fall
This is where you learn
And find you most of all
Everyone is climbing
Some are in a rush
Just let them be
They too will learn from this
After this is over
What will happen next
Does it make a difference
If no lesson here did fix
So if I were to say
And address Humanity
After this is over
Did I become a better me?

Thank you for this uplifting message, Paula! A little optimism goes a long way these days!
As usual dear Paula, you poetry dazzles! Thank you for this!💖
Thank you for viewing Darlene. My heart and soul…I value your time!
Oh, Paula, I love this poem so much! This section especially resonated with me “The thing that makes it smart Is knowing you have will Not everyone is climbing up the same hill.” Yes, indeed. Some people are having their lives turned inside out by this pandemic and others of us are experiencing something different than a full implode. Maybe we already had a bunch of those before this juncture. I’m actually not certain there’s an “after this is over.” Not certain the virus won’t always be with us…Like the plants that came from other places that are not indigenous. Maybe we’ll learn to co-exist with the virus, to not have the virus take so many lives or sicken so many people. Maybe that will be the “after.” Maybe we’ll learn how important touch is and emotional health and mental health, and wholeness. Maybe we’ll embrace with deeper understanding- what has human beings thrive. I love your final question–Did I become a better me?
Beautiful poem that sparked many thoughts here that I’ve now poured out of me. Thank you so much for sharing your poetry, your inspiration with all of us as it obviously got me thinking and feeling!! 🙂 I appreciate you, Paula!!
Laura, thank you. Even if it wasn’t the virus. I too apply this to any turbulent situation. Some of us are hit so hard and fast we fall hard. We are shaken and rattled, some easily get up, some have no means and are pulled even deeper. The weight of the world is the heaviest when it’s all on your back and you are eating dirt. The tools are not always in our belt…we thirst and the brain comes up empty…the mind races .. it is the heart that sends the cup of hope that quenches that thirst. And when you are that thirsty..it is best to sip at the pace your domain can adjust to. We become stronger. Bit by bit we rise and then stand. The help is out there. We search, experiment with what works and keep drinking hearts potion of hope. We become a better version of ourselves. The next fall will happen, but we then know we can still drink….a lilltle quicker each time.
I speak from experience and I am a professional faller…lol…but I’m also a master of getting up more.
I’m cherishing all your words here Laura and enjoy reading your thoughts. I’m so captivated by your essence and huge heart that’s for sure. Keep shining that light. All our flashlights together will help light up the world!
I appreciate you too. Thank you for bringing value to the table! Best menu item ever!
Have a great weekend my dear! Love and light🙏🙏Paula
Hey Paula I love the last lines.
We must come out better, if not more patient… then what?

Laurie,
Don’t know what glitch made my reply to Laura come here…sorry about that….
Thank you so much for reading…
You never know what is around the corner but hopefully we have more tools with how to cope.
Patience is needed to trust the process as all things have to fill the course in what life has in store
Thank you for replying
This message stays with me, Paula:
Expect to lose your grip
Anticipate the fall
This is where you learn
And find you most of all
Thank you.
Thank you Jeff…
Stays with me too…
A great lesson to me is the difference between expectation and anticipation.
It is in expectations there is pain and with anticipation there is more open for a world of possibilities. It’s not easy as we do have computing brains that deal out the same routine answers to repeated encounters… the open mind gives the brain a pinch and says…”look again” lol. Just my thoughts here
I appreciate your viewing this and adding value to this conversation. It gives me great pleasure to be a contributor to such thoughts.
Have a great weekend my friend🙏 Paula
