A non-verbal teen with autism speaks for the first time after visiting a neighbor’s incredible Christmas light display at a home in Florida.
A Christmas light display in Polk County is doing much than just bringing holiday joy to the community. It’s also encouraging a young girl with autism to express herself in a remarkable way. For the last 10 years, Marisabel Figueroa has brought her daughter, Kaitlyn to the light display every single night of the holiday season. Kaitlyn, who has autism and is non-verbal, looks forward to it every year, but this year was different. This year’s display triggered the 13-year-old to speak for the first time, leaving her mother speechless.
Miracles do happen my friend, and so fitting that it should happen at Christmas. Thank you for sharing this inspiring story Dennis…
miracles really happen. And when you least expect it, everything changes, it changes.
And it starts again stronger than ever.
Best wishes to all for the upcoming holidays.
The joy that family must be feeling hearing their daughter speak for the first time is an incredible gift anytime. Coming this time of the year must make it doubly meaningful for them. Happy Holidays to the dear people who I call my friends.
Any words added here would be extraneous. This… just this. Thank you.
Merry Christmas & Happy 2020 to you all!
I’m covered in goosebumps! Thank you for sharing this beautiful story, Dennis! Happy holidays!!
Truly amazing, Dennis. A miracle, indeed. This the kind of “news” we need now. Thank you for sharing and Merry Christmas to you, as well.
Miracles are all around us if we really look for them.
