How has 2019 unfolded for you? Any stand-out, “oh my goodness that was…” moments? Were there any themes that gave you pause?
For myself, three words:
Many moving parts.
I have known the impulse of creativity pulsing through my life; pushing me to unchartered limits. I have feasted on the joy of new possibilities for life. I have crossed paths with new friends and associates through networking and through synchronistic happenstance. I also reconnected with my body by resuming my dance, a practice that I had forgotten how much I prized. Things were weary at times for me especially around the month of May, but I pushed through with faith.
Out there in cyberspace and in good ole’ 3D space, I have been enthused to observe many forms of creative self-expression highlighted from writing, public speaking, blogging, performance art, sports, and multimedia, through to social movements such as The Women’s March. Visual displays and advancements in technology such as 5G cellular networks and breakthroughs in security analytics have been pronounced. 2019 has been a year in which a 16 -year-old, Greta Thunberg, stated her generation’s case for renewed efforts against climate change, and the world finally started to listen. All of these events were harmonious with the “3 Universal Year” vibrational themes expected in 2019.
We now will move into a new vibrational cycle from a numerology perspective as 2020 will be upon us very soon. 2020.
I can’t believe it. A new decade. Holy moly! For those that are curious and follow numerology, I’m going to delve into themes, alignments to general numbers in society and predominant personal numbers. In this article, I will attempt to provide a general idea about the flavour of the upcoming year. I am adding a pairing of astrological aspects today – as it has importance for January during which there will be a rare and beautiful blood supermoon.
We all experience interwoven cycles of vibration over a 365-day calendar year. OK, there will be 366 days in 2020, but who’s counting? Numerology assigns a single digit to each Universal Year, Personal Year, Personal Month and Personal Day. Each of these time periods exhibits an ever-repeating cycle from 1 through 9. 0 is not part of the cycle and has its own specialized designation of openness, fullness and at the same time expansiveness. Some of the other numbers, such as your Power Number, provide valuable illumination about you as well.
Shape and Form
While we get to begin a new decade that has a squeaky fresh vibe, we’re also going to feel like we have experienced a “hard landing”. Thwack! We have walked out of a sumptuous brunch buffet of fanciful offerings and now it’s time to pay for the mimosas. Burst our bubbles. The party is over ma’am. As we start a new decade, I feel a bit verklempt towards 2020. Not only is it a new decade for humankind, it is my own personal new decade. The emotions in writing this today are mixed but remain infused with hope. I somehow combine extreme gratitude for the wisdom I have gained and disbelief that I have made it this far. Is wisdom the right word? No, more like greater resolve, forgiveness, and semi-understanding at least.
The visually-inspired part of me loves to cavort with numbers and see hints in their shapes about their personalities and distinct ways of being in the world, because they all do have their own way of adding to our lives. I examine each separate digit in 2020. I do not want to miss the contribution of the individual digits to the upcoming year. 2 + 0 + 2 + 0 adds up to 4. This is the Universal Year Number (its influence affects the Planet). However; we have the two 20’s. The 2 is a sensitive and open-ended, harmonious, working with intuitive aspects and there are two of them adding to 4. This is where we will not be forgoing relationships in our search to blend in the attributes of 4. 4 is the discipline, the integral, the organizing, the methodical. On the other hand, sometimes rigid and unbending.
Let’s dig down to some unplumbed depths together:
2: The swan-like curve in the middle of “2” implies nimbleness and flexibility. It has a gentle and open sweep at the top of the figure that presents as if it invites communication. The bottom of this delight is very supported with the strong line at its tender, but firm base. A cooperator, a diplomat, a mediator.
0: The “0” is a constant loop and has the feeling of infinity. It essentially intensifies what is in front of it. An open number with possibility. We have two zeros in 2020 which teases us that anything can happen. The illustration of “0” reveals that there is a mystery at hand as to what it is. We have two of them adding double curiosity. An ignitor, a catalyst, an agent of unknown outcomes.
4: Delving into the number “4”, she emerges as a solid enchantress. The 4 appears with a pronounced, solid bent back that supports a very straight front almost taking on the weight of the entire structure. The back of the number turns ¾ down and is met with a solid line that supports the upper part magnificently. One can’t help but feel there is a bit of containment here, order, and understanding with this solid and precious lovely. A stabilizer, a grounder, a workhorse.
Flashback to 2011
Revisiting the last Universal 4 year; here are some of the pronounced goings on:
Relationships: Kate Middleton and Prince William married.
Order: Osama Bin Laden’s influence was overtaken and extinguished.
Stability/Practicality: The Greeks were being bailed out with another €190 billion from their fellow member nations of the EU.
Organization: 4 people flew on the last flight in NASA’s space shuttle program, aboard Atlantis.
Breakdown and Shakedown
In deconstructing 2020 here are some of the general takeaways rooted in the vibrational frequency of the months ahead. In other words, what could be some of the major plot lines that we observe collectively?
First Phase of 2020: January – April
2020 begins with a frenetic energy about it as 2019’s energy wanes but the new frequency hasn’t quite taken over. The new regime does not roll in gently; though. No siree. January, in particular, will witness some very unexpected changes and there is a strong indication this is related to our Physical lives. Politically, financially, and in terms of our existence – there is going to be a quite unexpected occurrence that we did not anticipate. This is compounded by the fact that we have a rarity in astrology happening in January: a conjunction of Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto in the sign of Capricorn. We have not seen this for 19 years. Combined with the Universal Month 5 in January – we are in for a doozy. Expect some upheaval that brings order and a sense of grounding that we are all looking for.
February, March, and April will bring more of a settling into the orderly feel. There may be a sense of restriction now that you are buckling down but if you can ease into a plan and become comfortable with the structure of the year – that will help you out immensely.
Keep in mind duties to community, including maintaining your personal integrity. This will be of value to you moving through this quarter of the year. Who have you not reached out to that you feel you could reach out to?
Second Phase of 2020: May-August
We have an ending and a tying-up of details in May that is going to bring a breath of gloriously refreshing air for all of us. What needs to be completed? What are you compelled to finish?
June will be a month to start on some aspect of an already-begun piece of work or a new idea entirely. Tackling the old in a fresh way, beginning a new project, joining or forming a new network are favoured. Travel if you feel compelled, go out of your way to bring in the new.
July will be a time of really embracing new relationships and will be a powerful month for discussions, dissolutions, and movement forward. A fantastic time to have a ceremony of some type – reunions, weddings, commitment gestures are enhanced right now. Dreams and intuitions may flood you now and this is a time to have writing materials at hand to capture them.
August ushers in a moment to get your funk on in a year of all this seriousness. If you feel like taking a break for some fun, the time could be NOW. What gets your motor revving? Who could you call to play with you right now?
Third Phase of 2020: September – December
September is when things finally start taking shape for all of us. Efforts that you have been pouring into your endeavours can bear juicy, multi-hued fruit. This is a month, in particular, to be able to buckle down, but still note that you want to watch your health and try to throw in breaks as necessary.
October is the time for a getaway. If you were to plan a break, this is the month to allow yourself some relaxation away from all of your hard work.
November is the month that you will finally feel like you are on top of your domestic duties and therefore have some free time to tackle that mess in the basement or in your throw-everything drawer. You’ll feel like it’s easy complete responsibilities this month. Community expectations also call to you and you’ll feel ready to take things on.
December is time for reflection regarding your hard work during 2020. What have you built? What new order have you established for yourself? Consider going away and giving yourself some needed time for contemplation. Gratitude, graciousness, and being ultra-kind to yourself for what you actually did this year – what you built in terms of yourself and your inner work and what has manifested, come to life, been completed in your outer world.
Power Number
This is a number combination that is not commonly written about in numerology, but because 2020 is a time of manifestations, footholds and concrete progress, I thought to bring it up here. It helps align you to your dreams and desires by affording ideas of balance to your personality as you move forward.
Calculate your “Power Number” by adding your month and date of birth together.
For example: August 23 = 8 + 2 + 3 = 13. Then, 1 + 3 = 4. I am using my best friend’s birthdate as my example date today. Wow, she should be happy with that 4. I digress. Your Power Number denotes your approach to life. Each Power Number will combine in interesting ways with the Universal Year Number. How will 2020 play out for you? Calculate your Power Number as above and follow along:
Power Number 1 – You may be pulled by the urge to scatter and try everything new this year but it would be beneficial to find a course or direction to focus on. The urge for grounding will be strong therefore you will feel aligned to creating new systems of support. Your heart speaks volumes. Keep that in mind if you can.
Power Number 2 – Your emphasis on support will be found in quality networking and fluidly working with your intuition in your dealings. Guidance in relationships will take you through. Be open and yet maintain your boundaries. Many relationship issues may also brew. You will find that strength in numbers can work well this year.
Power Number 3 – Your personal magnetism can help this year as you balance the pull of creativity with putting your ideas into practice. Keep your nose to the grindstone but make use of your talent for innovation and your charisma.
Power Number 4 – Oh my, you are in the flow this year and you can build your foundations with gusto. Go for it! Things line up nicely. You can really make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear! Be firm, fair, and forgiving as needed.
Power Number 5 – You may find yourself doing more presentations, leading group efforts, and trying to strike a work/life balance. 2020 is a wonderful year for relationships of all kinds. Your magnetic ways could attract and/or seal the deal on finding someone for the long-haul this year. Keep your intuition and sensitivity at the forefront to really get ahead!
Power Number 6 – A moment could present itself this year when you are given the opportunity to work from home if you are not doing so already. Just say “yes! Let’s make it happen!” You could be pulled in to work out other peoples’ issues. Make sure you have appropriate boundaries.
Power Number 7 – This year can find you in retreat. Alone time can promote study and allow you to venture into a field that captures your interest in a soulful way. Keep in mind to come up for air and remember those that you love; they could offer immeasurable value to you.
Power Number 8 – Are you planning on starting a new company or expansion of an idea? Manifesting your big ideas is what will play out for you right now. An extremely fortuitous time for you to learn how it feels to make it happen, chase it down, allow it to unfold. Give credit where credit is due by remembering those in your life – with kindness and thanks.
Power Number 9 – Applying yourself to both internal clearing and organizing your home or workplace will flow seamlessly. You will be highly effective if you can put your efforts in this direction. Envision a metronome ticking back and forth in the cadence of purging and creating, purging and creating.
Those Fantastic Footholds…
As you have witnessed, by breaking down 2020 we are moving into – not an unsexy time – but a time when seriousness and elbow grease can really propel you forward in life-changing ways.
Take the 2019 movie based in New York, Brittany Runs A Marathon (available on Amazon Prime Video). I would say this show embraces what 2020 represents vibrationally. All the grit, the gusto, the alignment to the right relationships to catapult you to your dreams, and the steadfastness to keep going when things look ultra-dicey, maybe even shitty, really. This IS how you step forward and create those fantastic footholds. The key is knowing what it is you desire.
Other major themes and influences for 2020:
- Connecting to the physical world and through it, to manifesting our dreams.
- Planting yourself to dedicate yourself to uplevel your knowledge.
- Setting the foundation for a whole new life with someone(s) or something(s).
- Finding security within yourself and in your world. Continued renewal and exploration of yourself through healing and connection to spirit.
- Living in synergy in your relationships, being considerate but letting new things creep in and understanding unfold. Your intuition is going to serve you immensely.
- Dealing with grounding, as the 4 relates to Taurus in astrology. It’s a turn to loyalties, discipline with tender knowledge and appreciation of hard work and methodology.
- Welcoming planning in your own way. You may be drawn to explore time and how it is best spent and keeping this at the forefront of your awareness. This could be from direct manifestations of vision boards, to new software to help you, to really finding a day planning system that might work just for you. For some, traditional methods of organization just do not fit. I get it. You may have other more fitting ideas that ring true for you.
- Eliminating distractions that may not be in line with your current direction.
- Manifesting with intention and purpose is within reach. Having a mindset of gratitude, positivity, and appreciation will take you far in this regard.
- Being okay with the mundane and exercising integrity: clear out the inboxes of your life!
- Having some balance with doggedness and rigidness this year: have some lightness and nurturing of spirit thrown in. Your health is your wealth.
Endurance Assurance
To make the best of 2020, it is advised that you move full-throttle into the intention that your desire will show up in your life. What do you want your life to look like in each of the three phases of 2020 as I outlined for the forecast above? Chunking things into four-month segments make things more achievable. Envision moving from January through April: what will you achieve in those months? Boom! Now the next segment. Ta da! Then the next…
As this is a year of planning and organizing, it definitely can feel like work. Here are some questions I ask you to help plan and explore your intentions:
- In what ways can I organize my life better to bring me greater happiness?
- What do I want to do to create greater stability (in all regards!) for myself overall?
- Are there relationships that I would like to nurture or nix? Who are they, what can I do next?
- In terms of a work plan, what do I need to create to achieve what I want next year? What help do I need? How would it feel when this is accomplished?
I, for one, look forward to the coming vibrational shift. In all ways. I am already starting to feel it, which one anticipates a few months before and after each annual cycle. Are you feeling anything new right now, as well? I know there are fine details and tasks I am gearing up to take care of with my business. And I actually feel inspired to get to it now and not just pay it lip service. As for December, I do something ceremonial in my journal at the end of each Universal Year to give thanks to people and to bless what has happened. You may do something similar. It is a life-honouring ritual for me.
To wrap up, I’d like to reiterate that your own personal numerology will intermingle with the Universal Year. For instance, I will be in a Personal Year 9 (many instances of tying up and ending of aspects that no longer serve me), A Power Number 4, giving me some obvious alignment to the with the Universal Year 4 in the area of inviting order and systematic thinking. Other people with different birthdays may have entirely contrasting experiences in 2020.
Your numerology is your fingerprint. Your experience is based on your free will. Why I write about the Universal Year is that this is a bond that we can all feel in individualized ways. Worth acclimating and watching it captivatingly unfold if patterns intrigue you.
2020 is the time to find great order in the meaning of life. Welcome our next decade of existence!
This is actually a very interesting article, Maureen. I am not a believer in numerology, horoscopes or any system or what have you that pretends to predict the future from the past or anything else. With all due respect to your beliefs, human beings do not nor have they ever had the ability to predict the future. What will happen or not happen in 2020 is what will be what G-d wills it to be.
